UCAS forms and foundation years

Is it normal to put the courses you want to do on your UCAS form and then also the same course but with a foundation year in case you dont hit the grades OR do most foundation year degrees come through clearing?

It's not generally a good idea to apply for both yr 1 and yr 0 entry for the same course and university. Normally if you contact a university they'll explain if they'll automatically consider yr 1 applicants for foundation if they're unable to make an offer for yr 1 or if an applicant misses their yr 1 offer conditions in August.

Give your universities a ring (phone don't email) and ask what their normal policy is and what year they recommend you apply for.
