Whats the process to start applying into universities?

Reply 1

Hi there!

To apply to university, you will first need to choose a subject or subjects that you'd like to study. From there, you can start to research universities that offer these courses, and visit them on open days.

Once you've decided which universities you'd like to go to, you'll need to make an application through UCAS. When you do this, you'll need to write a Personal Statement. This is a short statement explaining to the universities who you are, why you're applying for the subject, and why you would make an excellent student at their institution. You can find more detailed guidance on writing Personal Statements on the UCAS website.

Once you've done this, you will submit your application, and the universities you've applied for will review it and hopefully make you an offer. When you have your offers back, you can decide which university you'd like to go to the most, and make it your firm choice, with your insurance choice as your back up. Then, all you have to do is work hard to get the best grades possible in your final exams, and you'll be in!

It can seem overwhelming at times, but there are plenty of people who will be able to support you during this process. People like your family, friends, careers advisors and teachers will all be able to give you advice and help you throughout your journey to university.

Good luck & best wishes for the future!
