for integral q j what did you get?

i think most people are getting 3 or 4 but idk which one. i got 4

i got 3/2 too but i got the answer p quickly making me think it might've not been the right way. but I've seen too many people getting 3/2 so its probably that.

Ok yeah I got that wrong then. The only 2 I'm unsure about now is the binomial one and the 3¹⁰. Dyu remember what letter the binomial one was, cos I don't remember the acc answer. Also what was the actual answer to the 3¹⁰ one?

sorry man cant remember either of those 2-just the technique. which is diff of two squares and it was like 5c2 x -16 to the power of 3. and for the other one it was every number till 3 to the 10 added up minus the geometric of 1,3,9 till 3 to the 10.,

(3^10 - 1)^2 / 2, my exam crashed here so i spent an extra 40 mins on the question

binomial one was just -(5C3(2^12)) IIRC, so -(5 x 2 x 2^12) which was -2^13 x 5? Thats what i got atleast, assuming i didnt accidentally miss a term/trick.

U remember what option (ABCDE) that was?

Damn it think I put A. Must have made a plus minus error

How did people find the Fibonacci question?

yeah ngl it might've been A. All I remember is its either A,B or C. Surely you must remember the answer you got though? If -2^13 x 5 rings a bell you're good

It does ring a bell, but i wouldn't know if I made a plus minus error. I'm pretty sure the positive version of the answer was also an option

I've heard the entire Oxford Admissions server crashed this morning hardly anyone could get on.

My son had his MAT today it crashed after 20mins and was not up more than 2 hrs and he started from where he left after 2hrs. It was difficult for him refocus and take the test again. 2hrs of wait also had an impact. he was upset. Does anyone know can anyhing be done which has impacted his perfomance that was not his fault?

i dont think so because it happened to most people across the country so I doubt any special consideration will be given to anyone.

My teacher is appealing to oxford due to the disruptions. His teacher will probably do the same. Most people in the country had the same issues for some reason.
test was shambles. my friend didn't even get his extra time and had to contact oxford. technical difficulties made me start an hour late in the noisiest room. feel worse for the elat students tho who got the wrong question
which quesitons did you guys do most well on other than question1 ?

i definitely did quite well on question 2 (predicting 15/15) and very well on question 4 (depends on how they interpret my answers, but predicting high on that as well)
My daughter sat the test today in Lancashire. Seemed like a complete shambles! The exam crashed at the beginning and then she spent 2 and a half hours in the room while 3 teachers and an invigilator tried multiple numbers for Oxford, documented the crashing program, tried to find an IT workaround. After two and a half hours Oxford sent a PDF exam and she had to sit it feeling already exhausted and frazzled. The invigilator was furious, and documented everything that happened. The teacher is writing a report/appeal too. It seems like the exam was okay for some people, for others it glitched during and for others it never worked at all and they’ve had to spend 5 hours+ in a room and not get any lunch effectively. I’d presume Oxford will either have to throw the whole exam out or somehow figure out a fair way to assess who gets to the interview stage. It just seemed a real mess!
