Side note before I get started - the new Student Room layout meant it took me a good 10 minutes to find my blog lmaoo but I'm sure I'll get used to it soon
History NEA sources update - it was supposed to be due today but I spoke to my teacher (shout out to my girlboss of a history teacher, she slays so hard <33) because I've been having a massive nightmare with one of my sources (I think it might be secondary and they're all supposed to be primary and I can't find any other good ones atm) and she's given me an extra day to do mine, so it's due tomorrow. I think I might end up just handing in the two I know I'm definitely going to use though as I'm still having issues with the other one lmao
In terms of productivity, I can't lie I wasn't as productive as I would have liked to have been last week but that's okay - we can't be perfectly productive all the time and I think that's really important to emphasise - don't let grind culture phase you, it's okay to have unproductive days, we are human beings and not robots!!
My plan for this week:
•
Whatever on earth I'm doing with my history sources
•
English lit homework x2 (I have a short podcast to listen to tonight and then some tasks on All Quiet on the Western Front to do over the course of the week)
•
Biopsychology revision
•
Aggression revision
•
10 mins revision of year 12 psych content each day
•
Elizabeth I flashcards
•
English lit NEA (this is the third week I've said I'm going to do this and I am going to force myself to do some this week now my history sources is out the way) - I'm aiming to edit at least two paragraphs
•
War literature flashcards
•
International Relations flashcards
Oh and also, last week I found out the exam timetables for the summer (for aqa, google "aqa alevel exam timetable 2024" and it'll come up) and I worked out I will be done with my exams by the 7th June, which is really scary! I can't believe I have that little time left!!

So because I have issues, I'm going to be doing some work today whilst sat in bed accompanied by a box of tissues (sigh) so I can feel like I've actually done something with my day (always have to be doing something and can't possibly relax problems lol). So here's my plan for the day:

Before I start, I've decided I want to change up my updating schedule a bit - I think that now I've got in the regular routine of posting on a Monday and haven't given up on it yet, I think it's about time I started posting a bit more regularly. It might not be every day as I might find that a bit much, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'm aiming for at least 3 times a week (excluding Saturday as I'm working all day then and Sunday because I tend to clean my room and then just finish a bit of homework or chill out so there would be no point in me updating)! I just feel like I'm missing a lot of posts from other blogs I'm loving right now (I'll mention some in a post just after this one) so I really want to keep up with what all of you guys are up to, and I also think it's quite difficult for me to properly keep myself accountable on here when I'm only updating once a week. So you'll be hearing a lot more from me hereon in
In terms of productivity, I have been SLACKING this week - as I mentioned in my last post I've been really unwell this week (I'm pretty sure I've had the flu) so I think I can let myself off a bit. I did manage to do my English literature homework though and that was the most important thing for me to do.
I've been given a rough outline of what my history mock will be on in January finally - it's looking like Tudors will be everything up to Elizabeth I and International Relations will be the starting of the first world war to the post war settlements (4-7 chapters total). That's a manageable amount and the stuff I'm pretty good at so I'm not all that worried
Today's goals:
•
International Relations flashcards (chapter 14)
•
Update my CLIFS grid for the Up the Line to Death anthology (English literature)
•
Do some of my English literature NEA (aiming to finish editing my second paragraph today)
•
Biopsychology revision (neurons, a lesson I missed last week so I ended up really confused and had to ask one of my friends to help me haha)
I'll update in a bit with how I've gotten on.

UPDATE - TODAY'S PRODUCTIVITY:
I got everything done pretty much! I managed to add two poems to my English Lit CLIFS grid, I edited most of the second paragraph of my NEA (which I gave up on in the end as I got to the very end of the paragraph and I'm not quite sure where I'm going with it yet, but I did edit everything I had already written which is good) and I also managed to make some flashcards for International Relations and biopsych. I forgot to add into that plan but I also did 10 minutes of relationships psych revision
I have private study tomorrow morning so my aims for that session are to photocopy my neurons sheet so I can draw out the diagrams on post it notes to stick up around my room (I cannot draw for the life of me so I want a copy to trace) and add more poems to my CLIFS grid as I'll have my anthology with me at school tomorrow.
Also leaving this here because I know I'll forget otherwise, tomorrow I need to do my aggression homework (filling in some ethological explanation stuff from the textbook)!!
Anyway, I'm off now to go and chill out, I hope you all got done everything you wanted to and I'll hopefully speak to you tomorrow,

sigh... looks like I fell off a bit lmaoo! Sorry for no updates over the past few days, I was so unmotivated at the end of last week, though I had a day off work on Saturday and I managed to get loads of stuff done so I kind of made up for it!

I know the formal deadline isn't until the end of January and I appreciate they have a lot to go through, but it's a bit irritating considering I submitted my application 2 weeks before my school's deadline, so nearly a month ago and I'm applying for a really competitive course so I need it to be sent off asap 😽

I've just had my end of unit test for aggression in psychology set, but it's not for another 3 weeks so that's good
Here's what I've already done today:

10 mins research methods revision

30 mins focused English lit NEA work (I was very productive in this session)
•
I spent my private study period this morning making a timeline for international relations with my friend (we're doing a cheeky competition on which pair can make the best timeline and my friend and I are so committed that we're doing extra work on it whenever we get a chance lmao)
•
Updated my notion database with the topics for my history mock exam for international relations
The only thing I have left to do tonight now is make flashcards on the ethological explanation of aggression (I was going to try and do some of my English lit homework too but that's definitely not happening now lmao)
