I think if it helps people, that is a true accomplishment. Even if only one abused person feels a bit better about themselves that is a success, regardless of who thinks what of it.

But speaking from my perspective, as somebody that has had depression...(self harming related) i would certainly not consider joining this society. There is such a diversity of problems listed. And ironically, i would stereotype the people in this society...

I wouldn't join as I don't think of myself as a 'survivor' of sexual abuse. It happened, I dealt with it. I guess if it helped people it wouldn't be a completely terrible idea, but that's just not the way I see myself in relation to what happened.

I would have to agree with you. You can only get over it yourself, and societies don't CURE you... they help you cure yourself. Some, such as myself and cazamatazz just cut out the middle man.

well, i was emotionally abused by teh person i adored the most for the first 7 years of my life and im still not over that. It still tears me up inside and i still get angry about it. But, people say im a nice person and thats nice. If i can help, id like to because i know how it feels to be abused, and its not a nice place to be, believe me. Im now 17, and the pain and the hurt i feel is huge. Love you all.
