Hi everyone, I’ve applied for a DWP Work Coach position. Pre employment checks done. Working hours, location, start date etc have now all been agreed via phone call.
I’ve been asked to wait a few days for the formal offer to be made before telling my current employer. To make sure my employer receives the correct notice period, I have to tell them today that I hope to leave next month!Does anyone have experience with this? Did anyone go ahead and tell their employer they will be leaving before their formal offer had been made? Thanks!

Congratulation, can you work from home if you are a work coach?

Hi

Is this health assessment from DWP? How many weeks after the provisional offer did they send you this?

I think they asked me to fill the form as the part of the onboarding form itself. Once I submitted that they took 1 exactly a month to get back with completion email.

Hi all, has anyone here received a formal offer after PEC? How long did dwp take to get back with contract and start date after successful completion of PEC?

Mine were only completed last week. That means I have a long wait until I will get a start date. Which area your vacancy is based in?
How do you know when each check is completed? I start on the 15th of Jan on a provisional contract offer. I’ve had my DBS back - but not heard anything from anyone - no requests for more info or updates.

They didn’t give me that option unfortunately. Maybe because i was unable to validate my ID at the time. Idk but its weird because i never had the option and didnt even know this exists. Its workcoach role btw

Yeah, honestly they’re process is slow and my current work place is so toxic. I can’t resign unless i have a formal offer and idk how long theyll take. But thank god at least i have a job.

Btw its a work coach role in derby.
I also have a work coach role - they were chasing me within 24 hours to submit things online and I got a phone call a few days later asking if I want to start on the 15th on a provisional offer (permanent contract subject to checks). I think they are starting people in batches because of training.

That's good which area are you based in and is the role 5 days in office or any possibility of work from home?
Kent and all office based for a work coach - I was told that on the phone.

Wow, that’s great. Really happy for you. I got into kent office but rejected it as i had already accepted derby one. So hows the job like?
I start next Monday - I am quite nervous 😬

Hey do you mind me asking how long your pre employment checks took to complete and how long was it before you recieved your formal offer from the pec completed
Training is 7 weeks.
I have a conditional offer - my checks are not complete yet. If they don’t clear satisfactory then I lose my job. I am not working, so had nothing to lose.

Yeah I completed a form where they asked my height and weight which I think was unnecessary even tho I’m healthy lol. But nothing has come back about an appointment it’s a really long wait I’ll probably call them on Monday to find out more

How did you get on? I meant to ask, do you keep getting update emails from them? Mine are all the same, I seem to keep getting a generic email every Thursday saying :

“Your pre-employment checks are currently in progress and we will provide confirmation once these have been completed. If we require additional information from yourself with regards to the above we will advise you of this.”

I’ve got my occupational health appointment tomorrow which I’m feeling a bit nervous about. Hoping it all goes ok and I get an update on the pre employment stuff soon.
