USA gun control

After the latest masssacre in America something has to be done!! Did you know that it is easier and quicker to buy a gun in America than it is in Israel even after war has started!!
The sad truth is the USA isn't really willing to do much to stop shootings, they've just kinda accepted them.

Like if the previous 500 odd mass shootings didn't change their mind...

I read that most people in America want gun control but politicians ignore them.

It seems there's a lot of money to be made selling firearms and ammunition. And money talks when it comes to lobbying politicians.

Also, the USA is known to be one of the most capitalistic countries in the world. The ability to make as much money as possible without encountering too much red tape is one of the country's highest priorities. They tend more towards the side of eschewing regulations in favour of the free market, not just on firearms but on pretty much anything. That's why it's the world's largest economy and one of the best places to do business, but also why they have few workers' rights, very little socialised healthcare, an obesity epidemic, high carbon emissions, and indeed, a gun control problem.

People who see guns on Tv in Europe have a little skewed perspective. The guns are more like flags. By that I mean they are not born for their function as we rational Europeans assume, they are carried to signal something rather than to be used. And that symbolic side of the weapons has completely overshadowed any discussion about what sort of function they might have.

They will always encourage these attacks and spread them all over the news until they get their bans. The UK shouldn't even have it on the news either.

Not wanting to see newsworthy events involving mass causalities because it may result in legislation change is a truly bizarre take.

And what exactly would you say is needed in terms of gun control? Its not like they can go and collect said weapons now is it..

That being said, people seem to forget that the vast majority of 'mass shootings' are gang related anyway, lets be fair. Few people would be happy at giving up their god given right because of, or to benefit, gang bangers and other unspeakable groups.

Australia collected guns and mass shootings stopped. None of the shool shootings are by gangs and god doesnt make gun laws. (Sorry if your post was meant as a joke and I didn't get it ☹️ )

Nothing will happen concerning this issue in a while. Even if the democrats wanted, they do not have sufficient cross-aisle appeal to win the next election. Forcing a change now will just lead to more polarization. I also think it is wise to care about voters who did NOT vote for you. Even if they didn't vote for you, they are even less likely to do so if you initiate brutal changes that do not have widespread support.

No, but I am not surprised. The gun lobby in America is too big to get failed. Guns will never get restricted in the United States.
