When I had my QM interview, I just wore a smart pair of trousers (their website states no jeans), and a nice top and cardie. I got an offer from them, so I guess I got the dress code right!

I've got an English interview on January 14th, but I'm certainly not wearing a suit! I'll probably go for smart casual. Maybe a dress, or a skirt and shirt.

I have a Physics interview on Wednesday and I only got the letter on Saturday...I'm just going in black trousers, tshirt, maybe a shirt, jacket, THE WORKS!
But yeah, anyone know what a QM English interview involves?

Have they said it's going to involve anything in particular? When I had my politics interview, they just asked me why I was interested in the subject, why I wanted to go to QM, what aspects of the subject I was interested in etc. I doubt it'll be too different.
English, no suits needed! Some people come smartish though, as long as you don't look like you've rolled out of bed you'll be fine.

I'm a Student Ambassador for the School of English & Drama so if you have specific questions about what happens, when, just ask me!

In the interview, you'll be asked about things on your PS, you may also get asked general English questions: What are your interests? Favourite books? You may also get asked questions like: Why QM? Why London?

Had my (Physics) interview today, it was fun. A few people wearing suits and a few people in just jeans and t shirts, I was in like a suit without a tie, but I like dressing up anyway. :P:

That's so helpful thankyou!! And it's restored my confidence slightly!
Ive applied to QM but haven't heard back yet.. I'm so scared about being called to an interview.
Do they interview all applicants?
I'm fairly sure they do. Interviews run right up until 25th March, so don't worry.

Hey sorry I know it's a while after you said but I got my interview email yesterday and I'm a bit eek! I saw on another thread people discussing their interview questions and they were asked things like "What is your favourite Austen book?" Will the questions be that specific if I haven't stated that I've read any Austen? (I haven't :s-smilie: )
They were probably only asked the Austen question if that was something mentioned in their personal statement. Really don't panic. It's a relaxed chat-style interview not a grilling!
Okey-doke, cheers
Hiya, i already have an offer from Queen Mary but they called me in for an interview to see if i can get an unconditonal offer which would be so amazing! I applied to study english so i thought you could help. Since they already gave me an offer are the interview questions going to be the same as normal interviews, what should i expect? Will i be doing some english work poetry analysis maybe?
