Congrats on your offer!! Yes I was also thinking rejections would come out faster, I would just like to know either way! Extra stressful as I’m not from the UK and would need time to get visa sorted out.

Thanks so much!! Same I thought rejections would be quicker too. Ah yeah that would definitely make it extra stressful! Hopefully you hear back soon!

I think they will probably do the same with me and decline me at some point but I don’t really mind as I have an offer from the uni I want to go to.

You can withdraw your application from Strathclyde and accept the offer you want on UCAS.

Hi everyone, Im hoping someone knows some more about this than I do! Googled a good few times to try find out but Im really no further forward. I have an offer for strathclyde primary and I am really pleased, however I am very keen to do the catholic teaching award to be able to teach in all schools. I know Glasgow offer this as part of the course and after some research it looks like its something you can obtain via online course if you don't go to Glasgow? Does anyone know if Strathclyde offer any link to this and if doing the online course is okay/common? Really any more information on this is helpful as I feel a bit lost and probably next step would be to ask staff at Strathclyde but i don't want to be a pain!

Hi! This is the link to the course at Strathclyde

https://www.gla.ac.uk/coursecatalogue/course/?code=EDUC4090

You are given a Glasgow email and moodle log-in to access all of the learning materials. When I was on placement I was expected to take two RE classes a week in addition to my subject classes. Good luck!

Aww thank you so much! Did you get an option to take this when the course started or did you have to make it known you wanted to take this before you started in the august? Again thanks for the help 🙂

You’re welcome! You submit the application through Glasgow Uni for the Strathclyde option. It’s a short application and I heard back fairly quickly. You then have until around Christmas to submit a ref from your Priest.

The course convener and Head of Education at Glasgow is [email protected] but I think you can just go ahead and apply as soon as you have an offer 🤩

Not sure if this sent the first time I tried to send it or not but hey! I have a pgde primary conditional offer at UHI Argyll, which location are you based at?

Does anyone know how easy it is to defer till next year (conditional offer in place)?

Would love to know more info if anyone can help

Reply 213

I know for where I applied I wouldn't have been able to defer. Think it is down to GTC places etc

I’m not 100% sure. It might depend on where you applied to but I agree with @Hoops71 that where I have applied to doesn’t allow deferring in.
