You can do anything you want really, although it is probably best for both you and the marker's sake to just use the standard algorithms you are given, read the question carefully and don't overcomplicate things. There will only be higher level questions so you aren't expected to know anything more than higher level.

listen my pal, i know youre a smart programmer with curiousity and intrest but just dont use object oriented program.
Object orirented programming is beyond the sqa higher course so just stick to what your pupil booklet says because being relevant to what youre teacher taught you will gain you the mark and doing something beyond your teacher taught you can be exceesive and it will risk you losing mark.

SO conclusively, DONT USE OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING -just do the normal sqa higher programming that is mentioned on your booklet.
