It should be Howard, Davis isn't even a Privy Councillor, he has never been in a cabinet. Howard can lead, and the Tories aren't going to win the next election anyway so someone like Howard can provide stability until they can really challenge and install Letwin or Davis to lead them.

I told him to start looking for pictures of the main players (ie, Howard and Davis).

Howard's fat and ugly and he sounds like a horse.

Can't really argue with that, but I think he would be a good leader.

I agree. Stabalise the party, gain a few seats, unite behind someone and some issues, and then try again the election after next.

Michael Portillo should be the new leader. He's the only person with character.

If Michael Howard becomes leader, the Conservatives will never get into government. Michael Portillo on the other hand would make the perfect prime minister.

Portillo is very unlikely to stand, Letwin isn't popular with the public because he's a toff. Davis actually grew up on a council estate and his mum was a single parent. Howard won't become PM but he will be a very strong leader and is one of the best public speakers in the Commons so he will make sure the Tories aren't embarressed, even if that means just ****ging off Labour.
