Time limit to extend loan for another year?
I forgot what it's called when you become elligible for another year of funding, I am 100% going to be accepted. I just may not be starting another degree for a couple of years (or potentially at all)
Can I just apply for the extra year when I need it in a few years time or is there a time limit and best done now?

Okay. You will be to apply for student finance from around the Feb/March before you start your course. So if you apply for a course that is going to start in September 2025, you would apply for student finance from the Spring of 2025. If you have done any previous study, then your entitlement to funding is calculated as follows:
Length of new course (in years) + 1 (gift) year - years of previous study
