I wouldn't use me or him as a reference for how many question to do because our school is slightly crazy when it comes to competitions like these. I would say you've done more than enough questions to qualify, and if you have done the most questions out of anyone in your school, you should definitely get a place.

is it true that cambridge basically instantly accept you after doing this camp?

Nah definitely not - but the insane amount of practice you get from doing the questions, as well as it looking pretty impressive, greatly increase your chances, but the summer school itself doesn't really give you a massive advantage over others when applying to cambridge.

Hey do you know perhaps what the ‘fair distribution of maths/ physics’ could be? And what’s yours?

If you look at people from previous years like ItsJamez and Imran, their split was like 20-80 Maths-Physics. So I'm not sure it matters that much, especially if you've done "practice physics" questions. I've been recording my "real progress" by emailing myself back and forth and I'm on 1:2 somehow. On my account it shows up as 20, 22% ish tho because of the sheer amount of practice physics questions I did...

I talked to an admissions tutor and they were like "I'd be looking for it" so yeah idk

We kind of have no choice because of how intense the competition has become - people would sneak up behind you to look at your question wheel anyway so we just don't bother hiding it, though all 5 of us have basically nearly completed every question on the website anyway and we all know that, so there's even less reason to hide it. I think that whether you should share your number of questions with the other person in your year group is down to what they are like. If they are the type of person to start trying harder if they see that you've done more than them, I would keep it a secret until the deadline.

Yeah totally. I’ve been telling everyone in my school and someone who wanted to do it heard how many questions I’d done and decided to give up because they wouldn’t be able to overtake it in time. Sounds pretty evil but at least I can now sleep at night unlike you guys

that was my thinking: i managed to do that too. i had 500 questions back in january; i didnt even tell them but i said "i'd advise you to stop because you'd be wasting your time" and 4 of them stopped 🤣

There are stealth-lords like that in my school too but yh, I don't think he's one of them. If I tell him, realistically, a few things could happen but they all result in him giving up or try-harding for the remaining days. And I'm already try-harding again, so I'd cancel out his progress on the question gap between us.

Let's put it this way: how many questions do you think you could bang out in 20 days if you were back at an "average" question count? That should give me a "time locus".

This challenge definitely brings out the worst in all of us. I've been called evil so many times lmao

That was our plan as well, but the people in our school took it as a challenge instead of as a threat. 😭

Probably a good 200, possibly more. I'm known for being able to put in ungodly hours of work to grind out something when I want to, so would be averaging around 4-5 hours on school days and more on weekends.

Yeah, same lol motivation kings

I might not be able to do quite 200, that's like 10 questions a day and I might not be able to sustain that especially w all the other stuff i'm doing too

😭😭😭 I'm so sorry and I suppose I hope you get on the camp tbh...

My motivation is partly that I want to get into Cambridge and I heard this is an easy way in from my teacher who taught people that got into the camp and they all got into the uni. The other part is just that I want to make my rivals suffer : )
