Hi. I am so glad I found this thread. I am looking for online options for A levels and found NEC but I haven't signed up. I can't seem to find online options from colleges or universities. Which college did you find an online study option with please? Can you point me to any you are aware of please? Thank you.

Hey there, I'm studying a HNC in wildlife and conservation management with the SRUC, I've been finding it very interesting and enjoyable and the teachers are lovely.
I have noticed other unis and colleges offer online options for some of their courses but unfortunately I can't remember which ones. It may be a good idea to just get in touch with them and ask if they have any online courses and then you can see if there's anything you'd find interesting.
Good luck with your search and feel free to get in touch with me anytime if you think it may be useful 😊

Also just a side note, I think NEC is the better option between the two providers I tried (the other was oxbridge) but you have to be very good at keeping yourself on track with learning because there's no real deadlines for assignments. If you're easily distracted or unable to manage your own time well I'd really urge you to try your hardest to find something in person, I'm relatively good at self discipline but I found it really challenging to stay motivated to work as it's very much self guided.

Oh that's a shame, I guess you wouldn't know if it's just him or everyone working there who's like that? Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I am someone who has taught in real situations and marked assignments at Oxbridge on a freelance basis. The concept is really good, but I would guess that the standard of support will vary. (I was not a tutor). I was very thorough with my marking and sometimes students don't like to receive critical comment that is designed to help them. Grading consultants are not paid very well, even though they have to be well qualified to do the work. I know that there was some experimentation on using AI to mark certain assignments and you don't get less personal than that. You have to be very motivated to work in an independent way and sixth form level is a time when you need to be alongside others. It might work for resits or a one off subject, but an entire programme might be difficult. There are a number of providers online that can tutor you well, using YouTube and other conferencing technology. I'd shop around before signing up to Oxbridge.

Thanks for that, I did use oxbridge for two weeks before canceling because my tutor just wasn't interacting with me, she wasn't answering my questions and would only reply after 3-5 days which just doesn't work when you're trying to study. I understand that all the tutors are different so I may have just had bad luck with her. All the best

I might do some online A levels and I was thinking of using Oxbridge home learning, does anyone have any experience with this company and if so would you recommend it?
Just updating this post to help others who are thinking about taking the online learning route (2025) ~ please please research the provider thoroughly before giving any money (I can't stress this enough!). I wouldn't go with Oxbridge as the support was very minimal and tutors took ages to respond, NEC was a better provider but still not ideal if you need more support. Online courses require a lot of dedication and willpower, I found out the hard way that it's not easy to motivate yourself when studying alone. Another thing I didn't find in my research is that many colleges and unis offer online options for certain courses, this is a very good option if the distance is a problem for you. Good luck with finding a way to study that suits you! All the best

Oxbridge have gone bust, gone into administration… do not use! Look at the recent reviews on Trust Pilot. Yet they are still taking money from people! I’m doing a course with Oxbridge and they will not respond to my emails about this situation!

currently I am having a nightmare with oxbridgehomelearning.uk . The company that actually takes your money is Barston College (dual name). The order was completed for the A level I ordered but no access to the course was created. I spent 3 days ringing them, emailing and leaving messages but there is currently zero way of contacting them. I genuinely feel they have scammed me and don't intend to reimburse (we'll see). However the moment I found the cancellation page I received a quick email reply (possibly auto reply) asking if I was sure. We'll see what happens but I believe the company are in financial difficulties and have deliberately closed all communication channels....not a good start if you are looking to get help with your studies.

that's really no good, I hope you manage to get a refund, I was also getting asked if I was sure I wanted to cancel loads and in the end we had to just phone them to get it canceled. Good luck!

I have been over a month trying to speak with one of their representatives about a course I joint and paid for, I sent emails, left voice messages and calls. Still waiting for them to get back to me. I wonder if it is an scam and if this can be reported 🤔

Oxbridge is also operating under the name Barston College. This is also a scam! I logged inn using Barston college and the log in opened up as Oxbridge. Barston college is also getting bad reviews on Trust Pilot. Keep Clear!

Hi there, I luckily managed to cancel my course before it was too late but unfortunately it looks like they are scamming people so I'd be wary of them. I'm afraid I don't know much about scamming and if you'd be able to get a refund so I won't be much help for you, good luck with it all and I hope you manage to work something out, all the best

Thanks for that, I hope as many people as possible see this so they don't fall into the same trap, all the best

Please don't fall for Oxbridge Home Tutoring scam! They do not even hire Oxford and Cambridge graduates who have been accepted into and attended the universities, one student found out their tutor got a D in A-level maths, so not at all fit to prepare them for their A-levels let alone admissions. Your best bet is reaching out to private tutoring agencies and having an initial consultation to explain your needs. I can recommend a smaller oxbridge tutoring service called xbridge, they were great for my friends daughter.

Oxbridge Limited, trading as Oxbridge Home Learning, has entered into insolvency. This means that any registered courses shall cease in 2025-07, and no examinations shall be registered. If possible, I recommend anyone eligible for a chargeback does so, per advice at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6631523/company-is-appointing-an-administrator.

Positive experiences

Some students say the course material is clear and easy to follow.

Tutors are described as helpful and patient by certain learners.

The flexibility of studying at your own pace is often praised.

A few reviewers said they completed their course successfully and received their certificates without issue.

Are you an LLM? I cannot believe that you would comment that after what I last stated, if not.

Oxbridge have gone into administration now. They are going under the name of Barton College. They have gone bust.

Do Not enrol with them.
