For the personal statement I talked mainly about my expereinces and emphasised how biology is the core and its one of the main things that got me into optometry. The biomed science is like my absolute last resort so I didnt rlly focusing on appealing to them and just sortta hope that what Ive said about biology is enough T-T
Also I cant find anywhere wether or not opom needs interviews. Do u need to do an interview now that you've got in or??

ohh okay cool. No no interview for city, most Optom unis don’t require an interview I think. Manchester, astons, Plymouth and I think Cardiff are some that do interviews.

Don’t stress if you don’t hear back from your university’s soon because unis are going/ already on Christmas break so it might be a while until they actually check your application. It doesn’t mean anything was necessarily wrong with your application of course. Check when the universities you’ve applied to are ok Christmas break. What unis did you apply to btw, if you don’t mind me asking?

I didn’t get a chance to do proper work experience related to optometry, I mentioned articles, summer school and other stuff.

Hey! I shadowed at an optometry high street practice and I did some work experience at moorfield eye hospital. For the PS I write about what made me to want to study Optometry, mentioned a level bio and how that links to Optometry, a little bit about general interests, one scientific article, and spoke quite a lot about my own skills ( as you should, sell yourself)

A*AA but AAB is the requirements for (I think) all Optom unis I know of/ applied to, what alevels do you do? If your trying to boost your grades then I would recommend boosting your two science subject to AA as lot of Optom unis require the science subject to be at grades AA and your third alevel at grade B. Hope that helps!

i can boost my bio to an A , im predicted A for socio too but the problem is i might not be able to get an A predicted for chem which is stressing me out

Hellooo sorry for the late reply
I basically didnt know what I wanted to do ATALL until around a month ago where I decided on optom so i basically did experience everywhere at UCLH, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital and online courses. My uncle owns an opticians so I did some work there and I read different articles that relate to optom in unique ways. Since most of mine were hospital based I just linked those to skills needed for an optometrist and wrote the statement
) I'd say the most useful thing I did tho was BECOME A VOLUNTEER AT MOORFIELDS EYE HOSPITAL. I became so genuinely interested in eye diseases and stuff cos I'd hear about different ones whilst I helped patients plus moorfields is literally one of the best eye hospitals in the world sooo yh 
the application process is a bit long but it's worth it T-T.Goodluck on your application!!! Also what unis are you thinking of applying to ??

My school delayed my application due to extenuating circumstances and then forgot to send it off until I reminded them yesterday. I just filled out the ID checks for city and hertfordshire after recieving the emails today but no offers yet no T-T
