I haven't seen many people talking about social policy on the internet and I was thinking about studying this. could anyone who has done it fill me in what course is likely to be like and the job opportunities in the future?

Its a very useful degree!
If you are interested in different social sciences (politics, sociology, law etc) and how to apply this understanding to real world problems, its definitely worth considering. It can lead to careers in many different areas, and on to postgrad to extend that knowledge.
