Retaking A-levels on gap year - should I start apprenticeship now or finish A-levels?

I'm on a gap year, privately studying to retake my A-levels in May/June 2024. I was planning on applying to universities and apprenticeships (not sure exactly what I want right now) and then begin the next phase of my career after I've finished A-levels.

But my aunt told me it would be better to just apply to a good Level 4 apprenticeship (I prefer Level 6 or Level 4 that can lead to Level 6 but I'm not sure how many companies offer this) that starts in the next few months; if this doesn't leave me with enough time to study A-levels on the side and I want to go to university in September 2024 I can just use clearing to go to a low-ranked university or the Open University (better than low-ranked university?).

I'm really not sure on this. I suppose it matters on if I find an apprenticeship that I'm really interested in that starts after June 2024, or if I find a degree I really want to do that requires good grades. I get that she wants me to just start my career and sees this as dead time, but I'm still studying to go to a better university or apprenticeship so it's not really wasted, and if money is a concern I can still get a normal job although that won't pay as well probably.
