CRISIS!! Next term we have House singing competition in school, n well, need a song!!

hahaha, quite embarressing really, but in our school we have inter house competitions (like most schools really) but one is house singing! Which everyone hates with a passion! But its my last year, and my and my mates want to go out with a bang, so we want a decent tune to go along with, not neccesserily to win but to rock and have a good time... so guys, give me all your suggestions... baring in mind we are likr 50-60 GUYS and have deep voices so yeah lol!!

thanks
singing?!?! at my school we had the cannon run! you could just write a song.

we have all sort of competitions but singing is one of them.
Cant write them , has to be a proper song. Last year we did Rockstar by Nickleback, and was awful!!

sing a song that means so much to you, becuase if you're emotionally connected to the song then you're more likely to sing it better
eg- for me, it would be 'there you'll be' by faith hill- becuase it reminds me of my mum. xxx
shine by take that!!

ADIDAS by Korn?

Whatever you do, don't do "All That Jazz" from Chicago because that's the one my boyfriend did at school and whenever we hear it anywhere he feels the need to sing along in an embarrassing way and then tell me AGAIN that he sang it in a house competition once and that they should have won but they came second.

*sigh*

'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen! You get to be soulful, operatic, and you get to rock out!

Build Me Up Buttercup

Or Queen, either Don't Stop Me Now or Bohemian Rhapsody
We had one of those, and we did Hey Jude. It was truly epic.
Try to sort it out so you can have a massive A capella group, like The Ransom Notes and cover... something. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jtPvuMDYJz4

:ditto:
i have just suddenly heard a really great song! its called 'riot girl'. it is a song from the haunting hour. i would seriously recommend it!
or maybe 'unwell'. also from haunting hour. i think.
haha  you should do Daddy's Gone by Glasvegas
ooh, or you could do some good 'ol Beach Boys
beach boys?! too lame.
this would be cool, but would be a challenge with any song to make it sound good with 50/60 people

Here's my two cents:

Karma Police - Radiohead [You know you want to]
Islands in the Stream - Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton [One guy starts of singing, another joins in on the next verse; those two stop, another two start (following the pattern of Kenny; Kenny and Dolly) - then all 50 kick in for a rousing chant of "Islands in the stream, that is what we are...."
Talk Dirty To Me - Poison [Yummmm - "I gotta touch you cause baby we'll be....AT THE DRIVEEE IN, IN THE OLD MAN'S FOOORD, BEHIND THE BUSHES, TIL I'M SCREAMING FOR MORE - down the basement, lock the cellar door, and baby, talk dirty to me" - Hell, if that doesn't get you interested, then i've failed]
Don't Fear the Reaper - B.O.C.
Lovers in a Dangerous Time - Bruce Cockburn
Hounds of Love - Kate Bush/The Futureheads. [50 guys doing that whole "Oh-oh-Oh" has got to win you something...]
Young Folks - Peter, Bjorn and John [40 guys whistling, and 10 singing? Sounds like a plan]

pretty much anything by the Editors. Tom has a nice deep-ish voice. Van Morrisson? Weezer? The Who? All depends on what you want really...
I have witnessed a boy's house do build me up buttercup. It was beautiful XD
