Music @ Durham?!

Hey kids

I was wondering if anyone could help me make my university decision. I've applied for music and have lots of lovely offers (Nottingham,Manchester,KCL AAB / Durham BBB / Royal Holloway ABB). I've visited Durham and it's so nice, I think I want to put it down as my first choice. Is that unwise? I think all of my offers were the 'typical' offers, suggesting that perhaps the Music department at Durham isn't as good as the rest? Can anyone in/who has been in a similar situation advise me? Ahh!

Thanks, Chris xx

Hey. I don't really know much about what those universities are like but a friend of mine got a BBB offer for Durham last year for Music and French joint honours and had it as her first choice, even though her other university offers were AAB/ABB (there was never any doubt that she was going to get 5 As so she could have got into anywhere) because she just fell in love with the university and the music department especially. I think it's probably important to be somewhere that you really like so I'd go for Durham. xxx
ooh and I've just seen your post in the offers thread.....My friend is at st john's too! xxx
Don't know too much about the course or greatness of the department for Music, but what i do know is that the Music library (on Palace Green) is right next to the Music School. I think that's really cool myself

They have lots of free lunchtime concerts on, some of which are better than others :p: My boyfriend, is a second year Music student and he told me about a concert last week that involved a woman using a blender and a razor to make noises:musicus: so you can't say the department is quiet or not interesting :p:
