Hey guys! I'm interested in applying to the dyson institute for 2025 entry, could you guys please tell me what the application process was like? what did you write about in your personal statement? what were the online assessments like and how did you prep for them?

Application was fairly simple, keep an eye out for when it opens because the first stage is just a form that registers your application (name, predicted grades etc). After that it's the online stage which is recorded interviews and game-based assessments. You can't really prep for the game-based assessments, they're pattern recognition and mental maths kinda things. For the interviews, I'd recommend planning your answers based on the 'non-academic requirements' from the website. These are kinda like mini personal statements; what you did and what you learnt from it, how it's related to the requirements. You get given a prompt/question (e.g. how do you feel about deadlines?) and you get 2 attempts to record urself speaking for a minute and a half. The Institute holds preparation webinars before every stage, so I'd definitely recommend going to those as a refresher. We didn't need an actual personal statement for our applications, so I'd assume you wouldn't either (unless they change that, make sure you're on the email newsletter just in case).
Good luck!!

Perhaps, who are you😭

I am aspiring to apply for Dyson institute this year and I really want to get it so I’m just looking for some info from people who got in. Don’t worry 😂I’m not in Dyson right now no need to watch your back. And also did you apply for any other apprenticeship? If so why did you pick Dyson over them

Ok I’ll take the risk that ur not an undercover spy, I am first year and I didn’t apply to any other das coz they didn’t look very appealing but this one is based (apart from the location)

Ok thank you, another question what part of the application process would you say is the most difficult and now studying at Dyson institute would you say it’s what you expected? Or how is it compared to uni?

Hey guys, hope you are all well. I am currently at the Dyson Institute so if anyone would like to know anything about... well, anything. Be sure to ask away.

Hi, do u have any tips for the technical interview. Is it heavily maths and physics related or is it more brain storming

For those who are currently at Dyson is it what you expected. Does everybody who starts the scheme stay once started? My son has been offered place and he is trying to decide between University and this. Thanks

ALSO, forgot this one. You get 2 choices at the end of the 4 years,
Option 1. Take sabbatical 3 months and you get £10,000 for that
Option 2. Take a 1 year sabbatical where a job will be ready for you when you get back, but you won't get any money towards it

Is this also for the 2025 intake, and if so can you point it out on the website, thanks!
