oohh well done, and aahaha you can relax without the work today <3
The report results are out
An A, B and a C but that's like
One of my two history teachers
The other history exam isn't there for some reason, so I'm gonna ask about that on Monday
I know my combined history grade from both exams is a b (I'm learning both of my modules at the same time, co-op teaching) and I got an A in that exam
So idk what's going on there
But I'm very pleased with the report and the comments

well done !!! 🎉
in politics, we have finally moved onto the dreaded...
Northern Ireland
Well, not really dreaded as much as "right we know this already"
So, I'm planning to start revising for British Politics when I don't have to do anything in my frees since that was such a huge topic
I'm slowly catching up with Stalin stuff, and he's pretty much the rest of the course
And I have a politics tracker but idk when it is
Tracker results so far:
Politics: A*, 94% (but it was also an easy 20 questions so)
History (Germany): A, 85% (A source question! This is where I went down in my mock!)
Trackers coming up:
History (Russia) March 14th
Scared for

Also I didn't know Oxford law was only 3 As at entry?
Help???
Should I/j
*gong bangs*
I LIVEEEEEEEE

year 13. the final frontier. (not really. it's the equivalent of y12 everywhere else because northern ireland counts reception as a year, like the scottish system)
i don't know how to do the fancy stuff on here, so the blog shall just be blocks of text I'm sorry 🥹🥹
anyway
year 13. the semifinal frontier.
for a bit of background, hi, I'm Orb (not my real name but I'm not taking chances) I'm an as student (obvi) studying English Literature, History and Politics. I'm predicted to get high grades in all, but I particularly want to get A*, A, A and my best bet for the A* is english atm (delusional)
In English we are studying Jane Eyre, A Streetcar Named Desire, Carol Ann Duffy and Philip Larkin (🤢🤮 specifically for larkin)
In History it is Russia from 1917- 1941 and also Yahtzee Germany/Democracy in Germany from 1919-1945
And in politics we are studying the British government and every day I grow more depressed looking at them.
This blog exists to hold me accountable and look at study methods I've found but anyone who reads this will have to sign an NDA/j
I'll probably be back later with a rant.

media paper 1 i dont know much like how the media has an effect on democracy stuff like that

right now the media can have an affect on democracy through presentation of the government
and politicians can manipulate it to their liking
Tony Blair during his time as PM had spin doctors whod like go to big newspapers like the Sun n basically 'spin' a bad story to make it sound better because he thought his image was so important
Newspapers in media r allowed to show political bias as well and can sway opinions like the guardian is left leaning n the daily mail is like right wing
All politicians do receive a degree of media training and handling the media
And they can't say things to the media they'd be able to say in parliament
The media also reports on Prime Minister's Questions and the presentation of a PM also really effects the way the public votes, thus affecting democracy

summary: the media is like a litmus test for the country's general opinion and as a result it has become increasingly important to democracy and Parliament with some using it to their advantage (Tony Blair) and some not at all, and generally media can also be used to shift public opinion when it comes to voting
