Is 5.5 chemistry and 5.4 bio good enough to get in?

How do you calculate your overall score?
(Add your score x3) + a level

Think I remember someone saying
A* = 6
A = 5.4
B = 4.8 (-0.6 etc)

Hey everyone, just got my exam results back. Hope yours went well. I got 5.36 in biology and 5.67 in chemistry. Would there be a better shot for to take the resit or no?

What is the layout of the exam and how do you access it and where can I find revision material from

Hi ppl,
I got a 6.00 in chem and like a 5.3/5.4 in bio, is this enough to get into Plovdiv or should I resit?
How did you revise and where can I find the revision material for the exam.

I think a lot of people use the past papers which are on the university’s website. Agencies offer some revision material but from my experience it’s just the same as the ones provided by the uni plus a textbook with all the condensed info. Ur best bet is to just make sure u learn all the past papers on the website and maybe look on Quizlet too bc some people have made revision sets specific for the exam

UPDATED POINTS CHECKER TO SEE IF YOU REACH THE CUT OFF FOR 2024 MEDICINE OR DENTISTRY PLOVDIV MU
Ok so to calculate your score
Your max in the entrance exam is out of 6 (6 being excellent and 2 being a fail)
You get your entrance result eg; 5.4 in biology and 5.6 in chemistry , then you multiply each by 3 so (5.4 x3) + (5.6 x 3) =33
Then you’ll get your AVERAGE FROM A LEVELS! This is very important because people don’t know that Plovdiv looks at average not both chemistry and biology individually which is why when people try to workout their score they get a higher score! (they only look at chemistry and biology not the third or fourth A level subject or equivalent ), A level/ GCE RANKS FOR 2024 ARE AS FOLLOWS; A*/ A = 6 points, B/C = 5, D = 4, E = 3 and U = fail/ no points. For Irish leaving certificate they are as follows FOR 2024; H1/H2 = 6 points, H3/H4 = 5, H5= 4, H6= 3 and H7/H8= fail. These are the updated ranks!!!
Now suppose you have 33 from your entrance, you’ll add that to your A level/ equivalent exam AVERAGE eg A in chemistry and B in bio so that’s 5.5, you’ll then get 38.5 as your total. The ranking cut off to get in last year for med was 36.69 and 36.68 for dental and will most likely be higher this year!
Please use these new checks to see if you are eligible!

So third A level subject doesn’t matter right? (e.g Maths)
