hey guys just wanted to see if anyone is in the same boat as me and has been waiting for a response from the MET after receiving their OAC results mine have come in all the way back on 15 of July and i passed and i still haven’t heard anything back, does anyone know why or has anyone experienced the same?

Hi. I received my OAC results 2 weeks after I submitted them back in February, and then I didn’t hear anything until May so I think that’s totally normal!

Does anyone have any advice on what borough to choose? What is the easiest to commute to and which are the safer and rougher areas?

Commute would depend on where you live?

In my opinion, AS and CN are the best for travel as all the stations are in close proximity to tube stops, they both have a bit of central excitement. CN is significantly more "diverse" in the sense that it has a bit of everything.
Has anyone had any issues contacting the uniform services as I sent them a request form for an appointment 10 days ago and it said I would get a response within 2-48 hours and I still haven’t heard anything back?

Okay perfect, i actually got my vetting back yesterday so i should hopefully hear in the next week or so. Did you get a choice about start dates or was a date just given to you?

Again sorry for the late response! If you haven't received a start date already, then they will give you a few choices of what is available (some months don't have intakes).

I have heard some people having issues with this. Keep trying to get in contact, but if not, then as long as it is done well before week 12 (familiarisation week [or 'fam week']), you should be fine.

Hi, thought I'd give a reply on this:

It can vary. From the people I have spoken to, and in general, the younger you are with fewer previous jobs, fewer previous addresses and fewer family/relationships to declare, the faster it will be. Quickest I've heard is one month. Mine took three months, where I had a few previous jobs, previous addresses and quite a few family/relationships to declare.

Hey, apologies for the late response. I submitted my vetting in July and they got back to me last month, hope that helps. However, It can be different for others, may take longer etc.

What are the start dates looking like at the moment? Just going through vetting at the moment wondering how far a start date will be after vetting?

If its Met, it is supposed to be within 3 months.
