Hi!
I’ve been seeing these GYG blogs and wanted to try it out. I’m hoping that this will somehow motivate me to do more studying!

To start this off, thought I might tell some stuff about me 😊

This year I am doing my National 5’s and these are the subjects I take:
Spanish, Biology, English, History, Art, Geography, Maths
I’m very happy with my predicted grades which are 6As + 1C, and I’m hoping that I will be able to get straight As in my final exams in May!
I am quite surprised though as some of my prelims didn’t go as well lol

Outside of school - I enjoy playing piano, drawing, baking and exercising
As for uni there are a few degrees I am thinking about, but I don’t know really!

I’d love a job related to animals in general, whether that be care or studying them. So I’m particularly interested in zoology, animal behaviour or something vet related. I am worried about different aspects about these though, eg. Zoology’s lab aspect or vet emotional/surgical aspects. Which is why I am considering other degrees like Spanish, Journalism, Psychology or even Archaeology.
The last choice seems odd to me, as I’ve only discovered it as an option because all my subjects match perfectly to it, but it might be interesting.🤔

My dream uni is University of Edinburgh, and I’m going to try my hardest to get into it. I’ll be looking for volunteering opportunities for my application next year : )

That’s all for my first post I think! Looking forward to meeting new people on here😄
heyy your subjects are so cool and gl with your studies!! 🌸

Thank you! Honestly, same with piano - I’m not very good at it since I only started learning 2 years ago 😂 but I’m sure you’re great at it! I’m also applying in like 2 years time, what I meant was that I want to start volunteering this year/next year so that I could put it on my application! I realise now that my og post makes zero sense haha🤭

Haha! I'm at Grade 6 but I'm that sort of person who music came to really easily, so instead of learning how to do the basics, I skipped ahead a ton, and I can do some reasonably impressive ****, but I can't even count?!!? Don't ask me how that happens lol. Guess I'm just bad at multitasking lolll. What's ur favourite song to play?

Time is going by so quickly it’s honestly quite scary, my first exam is in 51 days 😟 and I’m feeling very unprepared lol
I’m a bit ill today which isn’t great in terms of revision because I’ve done nothing since Friday so I’m going to set a timer for 1hr and try to complete all of my bio hw. I’ll also attach a deadlines list here to hold me accountable as a very busy week is coming ahead.

Spoiler

will update later on how it went

That’s so cool! I’m only grade 2 atm lol so I haven’t really been able to play a lot of the songs I like, but I quite liked this piece ‘Allegro’ by Thomas Attwood which I learned recently  wby?

51 DAYS OMG, but if you think of it as a month an and a half, you still have quite a bit of time to go, so don't stress too muchhh. i know that's easier said than done, but since you're one of those people who started revision earlier and didn't leave it to the last few weeks (or month) then i'm positive that you've achieved more than you realise, so genuinely don't dwell on the countdown too much and focus on the present and what you want to achieve in this week and the following couple, good luck 🤍🤍💪

I just noticed that the tsr emojis are back in the quick reply section! :bubbles:Hopefully fonts, colours and text size will also be added soon too
anyways - today I’m doing revision for my English prelim tomorrow. I kind of left it last minute, oops 🙊 We’re doing the critical reading paper, with a Scottish set text on Sailmaker and an essay on a piece of poetry called ‘dulce et decorum est’. Once I’m done with that I will try to memorise my convo no.1 for my Spanish talk next Monday!

Ah that’s so cool that we’re doing the same poem! I quite like it as it’s a bit of history in English  thanks!!

Just came in to say a few things and get back to work since I haven’t really updated this week!

My English prelim went okay I guess, I felt like I did better last time when we did the 2 components of the paper separately, but it gives me some insight on what to focus on when revising for exams.

Design prelim wasn’t good 🤧 I think it’s mainly a time management issue - and I need to practice writing more efficiently, but as I looked around a lot of people had the same problem and just ran out of time. I find it weird how I don’t manage to finish the paper in art, but in English I do just fine with time - I thought English was supposed to be harder 😃 ?

Geography assignment tomorrow!! I’m really nervous and kind of procrastinating through tsr🤭 I’m currently in the process of writing the “perfect” write up which is taking a bit long lol

That’s it for now! Tomorrow I’ll update on how the geo assignment went and I’ll get started on memorising my Spanish talk❤️
