I didn't live there, but 3 of my friends did.

As far as I know, its alright for socialising. 2 of my friends ended up living with the people they lived with there, so that's pretty good. And I think some parties and stuff happened.

The rooms are fairly small. That said, I'm used to having a really tiny room at home, so any of the rooms you can get in halls looks good to me! They're probably the smallest on campus though.

I can't comment about the bathroom situation really, as I wasn't in Cryfield. But I wasn't in ensuite accomodation either (I was in Whitefields), and it was never a problem. A couple of times, someone knocked on the door when I was in the shower, just to ask me to hurry up cos they wanted to use it before going to lectures. But most of the time there was no-one in there.

Main bonus of Cryfield is, of course, that it is CHEAP. Certainly when I was in first year, it was the cheapest on campus, then £60 per week, for a 30 week let. Whitefields was also £60, but on a 39 week let, which adds on a lot more! That said, I think that's something you should consider. Do you want to have to move everything out for Christmas and Easter or not? I actually stayed at uni for over a week in the Easter holidays, because I had a long essay to write.

Can I just ask why you want to be in a corridor not a flat?

Sorry to take over, but what is Whitefields like, because if I were to get an offer I would probably tend towards it over any other.

I bloody loved it.

It's unlike the other halls, because they're little houses! They're right next to Costcutters/the Union, and opposite the arts centre. So a fairly convenient location.

Rooms are... not huge, but bigger than in Cryfield. They do vary in shape and size, however. For instance, room A isn't that brilliant, because its a wonky shape. Room C is pretty big and rectangular.

On the ground floor there's a kitchen, a living/dining area (which consists of a table, a sort of padded bench, and some chairs), a bathroom (shower), a toilet (separate from the bathroom, so less queueing issues), and seven bedrooms.

Upstairs, there's another bathroom (shower over bath), and a separate toilet room, and five more bedrooms.

The corridor to the upstairs bedrooms kind of overlooks the living room, which can be really cool (awesome for hanging washing off to dry, as its like a balcony, and also good cos you can sit up there and talk to people downstairs), but also means you hear a fair bit of noise from the living room. That said, if people are noisy, you'll hear it wherever you are!

I found it was a really great place in terms of community - I ended up living with people from Whitefields in second year. Within weeks we had a family tree and a cooking rota. It was lovely.

I've not been in Whitefields, but I do believe they've walled up the balconies and stuck a big wall somewhere on the ground floor, possibly between living and dining I think...

 How dare they!
Cryfield is amazing! It's really good for socializing, and they put you with people of similar course/interests, and everyone used to get together and socialise in the evenings in the kitchens. The rooms were bigger than i was expecting, so that was a surprise as well. The bathrooms were good as well, so no real issues there.

Living in cryfield 2 atm :P
Its pretty much where the party's at.
Rooms are a decent size , smaller than other halls rooms but its enough to put all your crap in.
Kitchens are nice , shared between 8-13 depending on your floor.
Common room is nice for socializing (in our halls anyway , can always find someone from ground floor in the common room - usually playing wii/360 on the tv which we bought)
Cheapest rent is nice , £70 a week , consider the money you save - thats £__ more than you can spend on nights out or food/ice cream/condoms/whatever.
Have access to the redfern laundrette which is about 5 minutes walk away as opposed to the main campus laundrette which is always busy - if you go at weird times like midnight you can usually find a washing machine free with no waiting about.

Downsides - corridors are pretty narrow (but makes for great wall-wall climbing fun) , walls and doors are thin - you can usually hear people until like 1-2am , so headphones if you're a light sleeper (or you could just go out and be social)

Having spent 4 years at Warwick, I can tell you that Cryfield is one of the worst accommodations at Warwick. To me it is like a prison, lol! Whitefields is quite nice however - more like a mini flat
