I have really bad teacher attachment issues, theyve never been this bad tho.
Im in y13 and I have this really nice chemistry teacher and ive gotten really attached to her and it’s got to the point where the way she interacts with me affects my day.
Lately she’s become more hesitant to help me and stuff and it’s made me really insecure and upset and I get the feeling she doesn’t really like me anymore and it hurts a lot but i need to move on and idk how to.
Everyone says to get a boyfriend but I don’t want a boyfriend. How do i detach myself from her because it’s really bad

Oh my days i feel so seen and heard reading this comment!! Thank you so kuch for sharing. The exact same thing has happened to me!! It started in year 7 and ive been soo attatched to my chemistry teacher on and off and it has impacted my life so much. I am now in year 12 in a different school and I got so upset that I thought I would never see her again, so I asked her for chemistry tutoring now she comes to my house once a week to teach me. This was probarbly a really bad idea as I’m starting to get attatched now again. I have a boyfriend but it really doesn’t help. I remember always going to the chemistry lab just to see her, which impacted my friendships at break times. I had memorized her car number plate and I would commonly go to the town she lived in just to hope that I’d bump into her. It was never romantic or anything, I guess I see her as more of a parental figure- which is so so weird as I have loving parents and a loving family. I wish I had answers as to why and how to put an end to it. How is everything now??
