Is it just me or do DT teachers not teach?

I started a grammer school halfway through yr9 however my teacher for DT never teaches theory. I recently did a test on theory and only got 57% which is a grade 5. I am good at practical activities but only because we (the students) can help each other along the way. Theory is worth half my GCSE. Does anyone know any good revision websites that i can use in order to improve my DT grade?

So true. Even in QE boys the teachers barely teach and just tell us to do textbook stuff since we've finished our NEA or just make us watch videos on drawing. But before, we actually used to learn some stuff in year 10. That's really it for us. But, if you wanna improve I guess go over the specification, I do AQA so I look over their spec. A lot of the stuff that isn't taught in class still comes up in the exam, cus we're not taught all the stuff in the spec (a lot is evaluative stuff and life-cycle assessments, which are mainly common sense kinda stuff as well). Maybe buy a textbook and make sketch notes if you're a visual learner. Also, keep practicing different drawing methods and how to interpret things for isometric and first or third angle orthographic projections, how to draw one or two point perspectives, etc. There is also a website, called https://classroom.remembermore.app/ where you can build your own set of questions based on what topics you wanna revise. GL on your GCSE NEA and tests! (Note: Manage your time for your NEA efficiently, otherwise you'd be like me and do most of it in the last 2 weeks, which is definitely not ideal)

At GCSE, my teacher hasn't done much more than about 6 hours total of theory. I think they like to focus on the practical stuff and just expect us to know the basics. Whilst I find some of the content very self-explanatory, I do think stuff like Kinetic Pump Systems and Planned Obselence aren't as simple for people to grasp and they do need to do like 1 theory lesson every month-ish (and yes my exam is less than a week away)
