Can I apply to uk unis through the common app after applying to UCAS?

Hey, I applied to 5 universities through UCAS and while I was browsing on the common app, I found that there are some uk universities that accept common app applications...Can I apply there via Common app as a backup? Or does it go against the UCAS rule of only applying to 5 uk universities?

You can. But you will have to give up any UCAS offers you have and use Extra if you want to accept any common app offers.

Wait what? I submitted my UCAS (which did not include St Andrews) and then a common app to St Andrews. Will this mean my UCAS offers will be rescinded?

You cannot apply through CA and UCAS for the same Unis. Most UK Unis do not bother with CA now as its such a waste of time - USA applicants rarely accept the offers and even fewer actually turn up.

Eventually you’ll have to choose. St Andrews contract with UCAS stats that all undergraduate applications have to go through them one way or another. They can see if you have a current UCAS application and in that case will likely ask you to add them as a choice in Extra or Clearing to secure a place.
The have to pay a UCAS fee based on the number of undergraduates admitted - if they admit outside UCAS then that’s dodging the fee and breaking their contract.
