TSR Study Together - STEM vs Humanities - First Session!!!

:woo: TSR Study Together - STEM vs Humanities :woo:

Session One 20th February 2024
Welcome to the first session of TSR Study Together STEM vs Humanities! This is a social and supportive place to study alongside other students and keep yourself motivated :yep: You can find more info on how it works here and it’s open to everyone!

So to kick off, introduce yourself below (only including as much info as you're comfortable with!), let others know what subjects you're studying and your goal for this evening's study session. I'll be checking in throughout the evening and will be handing out the rep points towards the end

Good luck all! :badger:

I'm study23! I have a gyg and know a lot of people from that hoping to join tonight but I will be signing in for team STEM - I'm going to do an hour of chem, firstly simplifying class notes on how to name organic molecules andthen some practise questions. I find these ok in class so I may try and move on to notes on unit 2.5 more on hydrocarbons too - be back soon!
Hi, I'm in Year 13 studying Psychology, Sociology, and Economics. I have mock exams throughout these two weeks. Tomorrow's exam is Sociology, so I'll be spending my time going over Paper Two content and doing exam practice. Sociology is the main subject I struggle with, so if anyone has any advice, please advise me!! #teamhumanities

I'm zeasea and I'm studying chemistry, physics and maths. Over 3 days this week I'm trying to cover all of module 5, as it's in my mocks next week but my teachers have not bothered actually teaching it, so here we are.

Tonight's goal is to get through all of section 4: enthalpy changes, lattice enthalpy, born-haber cycles, enthalpy of solution, entropy and free energy change.
Hi guys! My name is Shahzadi and I'm in Year 13 ❤️ I'm signing in for team STEM and going to be focusing on Biology (OCR A) today. In particular making notes, revising and doing exam practise of the chapter Patterns of Inheritance.

All the best for your study session guys

hellooo 🤍

well, i'm a y11 student currently trying to establish a productive revision routine in these last 80 days i have until gcses 😭🙏

subjects i study:

biology (aqa)

chemistry (aqa)

physics (aqa)

maths (edexcel)

english language (edexcel)

english literature (edexcel)

german (edexcel)

geography (aqa)

computer science (ocr)

design technology (aqa)

i was actually doing geography revision until now haha, but since i'm a dedicated team stem member, i'm going to do some chemistry electrolysis revision now, by first watching some yt videos, blurting on my whiteboard, making notion flashcards, and finally doing some pmt flashcards. i actually hate electrolysis and have been procrastinating revising it, but hopefully this little study session will help me finally do it 💪

hoping to stay for the whole two hours, but i may have to leave in the last half an hour for dinner 🤍 goodluck to everyoneee

hi guys! i'm hana & i'm in y13 studying bio, chem, maths & spanish.
i'm going to try to try to spend as much time as possible on my integration hw, which is a very long booklet with 50-60 integration questions!
:hi: Chrono is checking in
Introduce yourself: I'm in my 3rd year doing a food science undergrad :woo: I like penguins, Doctor Who  and got a bit of an addiction playing Sims 4 (along with the sims 4 University pack where my sims get better grades than I do :hide:

My goals for this evening are to tackle some lectures in my food chemistry module
- take notes for acrylamide lecture > currently in progress on 31/60 slides :eek4:
- do some quizlet flashcards if time permits

If I have time this evening (because I need to do some work on my dissertation as well):
- food law flavouring legislation (47 slides)
- taints and off flavours (68 slides)

My food chemistry module is 1 of 2 exams I have this year but all the other coursework seems to be getting in the way atm so need to tackle this ASAP

Hi zeasea :wavey: best of luck in your mock exams next week, how are you feeling about them in general?
Welcome everyone! So happy to see so many of you here and ready to study/ compete!

Good luck with your hydrocarbons @study23! - in a sentence, can you explain to this history nerd what they actually are?

Looks like @emm4nuella, @sab3rrr and @idklol1 are both ploughing through some sociology stuff this evening!

@penguingirl18 glad to see some uni students have joined us - what ideas have you had for your project so far?

Absolutely terrible, lol. We don't know half of the content for any of them apart from physics, we haven't been given any time to revise and just in general I know it's going to go terribly.
I'm hazza i study bio, chem and econ I currently have my mocks so I'm revising for my last mock-chem. First one went really bad so hope this goes better. I'm trying to study without ending up reading a book (I have a book addiction😭😭😭)

Well, hi
I'm in Year 11... Just hoping to try my best and challenge myself to get good grades

Today I am planning to do Biology and focus on the endocrine system. Also, I would probably do Physics - Magnetism today.

Hopefully everyone achieves what they want to do
