KCL M190 English and Hong Kong Law

Hi there! I applied to the Kings M190 course back in November and I read somewhere that responses will come after the January 31st UCAS deadline with interviews taking place in February/March. Obviously we’re approaching the middle of February and I haven’t heard anything at all. Does anyone have an idea of the timeline for this?

Hiya! I'm thinking of applying for this course, do you mind answering a couple questions? What kind of questions are asked in the interview? and how are you personally feeling about the course; would you recommend it?

Hey! The interview will be done by a professor from either campus. My one with Exeter took about 25 minutes, whereas Kings was only about 10 (but that was probably because the CUHK professor, Stuart Hargreaves, had interviewed me with Exeter and I’d already gotten an offer). UCL didn’t even do interviews, instead they had you write a 500ish word essay which was essentially the interview.

In terms of the questions:

1.

Why do you want to do this program (look to answer why these two specifically so look up course modules of either university’s law program)

2.

Why the dual degree

3.

Further discussion on what you might have mentioned in answering the above.

What I was advised to do was to answer part 2 unprompted in part 1 and refer to 2-3 modules per university. I went 4/4 on interviews, so I was doing something right hahah.

As for the course itself, I haven’t actually started. A-Level results day is next Thursday so fingers crossed!

If you’ve got any other questions, I’d be happy to answer. My Instagram is @ekt_0638.
