ive already outlined that my principles are a mixed bag of nationalism, liberatarianism and conservatism. i have no interest in the BNP.
Yes I know that.

But you do bang on about 'nationalism' quite a lot; I was simply respecting your right to have those views.

PS. Are you British? or French?

Because Tory stereotype bashing is relevant when it comes to who people vote for.
then i worry desperately for those people and the country.

You've said you have nationalistic views in this thread. Plus lots of threads on this forum have you banging on about it too.

BTW I'm not saying thats wrong. If thats what you belive then you've got to be true to yourself.

Vienna95 has proven to be a one issue voter. Let's respect that !
while im sure you have good intentions, you make comments like this and the starting of the thread and then want to talk policy. im not saying you cant have a joke, but i cant take you seriously if your jumping from ignorance to interest.

Its not the stereotype of the Tories its the reality of the Tory hierachy that people cannot relate to.

ive said it in this thread and ONE other as i recall. this is mainly because ive been stigmatised as a die hard conservative which i am not.

if you believe liberalism and/or socialism is what you believe then you have to be true to yourself. what gets my back up is that i know very well what they are in principle, from what ive read not many people have a great idea regarding those i would subscribe to.

Tax and spend
Reduce tax and reduce spend

Depends what position you're in as to who you will vote for.
ok, assuming we can reduce the choice between labour/tory that much (which we cant) then id choose to reduce tax and reduce spend, and vote tory!

let people choose what to spend their own money on i say!

Tory members can and are from all walks of life but those in positions of influence and power do not represent the population.

...and have no education, hospitals?
These things must be funded, it is just how you fund them that is the argument.

Tories want more money for their pockets in order to gain service from private services e.g. public schools, BUPA etc... They don't really care much about the NHS, comprehensives etc... thats for poor people who have no choice.

Tory MPs and some members. Look at Labour - ethnic minority MPs and cabinet ministers, lots of women MPs and ministers.

lets be realistic. The majority of Tory voters are rich, and therefore the majority have private healthcare. Therefore, they dont give a damn about the bad state of the NHS because they dont use it. They therefore agree with a reduction in taxes, because the money wasnt going to be spent on their healthcare anyway.

Its a TRUE stereotype. Im not saying ALL, Im saying the MAJORITY.

the conservative party can only accept those who stand as candidate. the fact is, despite openly encouraging minority groups, they feel that Labour by default is their party. this is much the same in america where blacks by default are just guided into the Democratic vote.

it may not be representative, but neither is any political party. i dont see how that detracts from the ability of a party to propose policies and be representative of more than those people who stand as MP. after all they are merely the tip of the political iceberg.
