just when you think you are getting somewhere, out come the stereotypes again.
SO where would you spend the money you save if their is no NHS or proper comprehensive system.

Tories want passports for people to use the money the state would have paid for health and education, and invest it in the private sector.

Not stereotype, fact.

the conservative party can only accept those who stand as candidate. the fact is, despite openly encouraging minority groups, they feel that Labour by default is their party. this is much the same in america where blacks by default are just guided into the Democratic vote.

it may not be representative, but neither is any political party. i dont see how that detracts from the ability of a party to propose policies and be representative of more than those people who stand as MP. after all they are merely the tip of the political iceberg.
The Tories, as every institution have to, must do more and more. You can't say well we've tried and noone wants to come. A lot of Asians are conservative in their values - they have to be welcomed much more and made more confortable.

lets be realistic. The majority of Tory voters are rich, and therefore the majority have private healthcare. Therefore, they dont give a **** about the bad state of the NHS because they dont use it. They therefore agree with a reduction in taxes, because the money wasnt going to be spent on their healthcare anyway.

Its a TRUE stereotype. Im not saying ALL, Im saying the MAJORITY.

if thats what people think they are sorely wrong..

A cross-section of Tory/Labour voters would show that the average Conservative is better off.

what like quotas...

they have conservative values, but they are led to believe that the Labour, the socialists are the party for the minorities. that is the story the liberals sell them precisely to get their votes. the democrats use the same divisive tactics in america.

Not quotas  . Just a concerted effort to attract more ethnic minorities, women, younger people into the party and give them the same opportunties as others to make it big in the party.

How would reducing investment in the NHS and then removing it periodically when people want private treatment give people better healthcare from the NHS?

they wouldnt reduce spending, Liam Fox has admitted we spend to little on health care as it is. i think about 7% of GDP compared to EU equivalents of 11%

So here's an idea ... why not increase public spending!

The Tories will cut spending.
The will also reduce it further with passports.

A two tier sector will be formed; a NHS for the poor (who need it the most) which is underinvested, and a rich private sector where people who can afford operations can be fast-tracked. The NHS passport will only pay a fraction for the private treatment so to go for that option you need money.

Maybe, but other things are important such as:

A change in emphasis, mood, atmosphere.

Why are there so few women and ethnic minorities in the Tory hierachy?

Of corse they dont care. Why would they care if the money isnt going to be spent on them???

The Tories are the most selfish political party. They want to keep the rich rich and the poor poor, all their policies are guided towards this ultimate aim.

a two tier system is precisely what we have now!!!, under a Labour government who is dedicated to the idea of a full NHS service.

the passport system is much the same as that in France(indeed they have studied the majority of EU countries). there is an incentive for those who can afford to pay for private treatment to use private capacity, because the state will pay a substantial part of their fees if they make that choice. this reduces the strain and improves capacity for public sector resources where you will receive medical treatment free of charge if you make that choice. for a large part of the population there is a clear incentive to save for health.

you dont have a clue. the tories want to make the poor rich, and to keep the rich rich. whats wrong with that? its better than keeping the poor poor, and making the rich poor, which is what socialism aims to do.

if people think that the tories are for a minority of the rich, why is it they were in power 1979-1997? surely a majority of people must have voted for them? and we dont think that the rich are a majority in britain do we?

heres some facts:
http://www.electoralcommission.org.u..._N__S__W__.pdf
10million voted labour, 8 million tory. now that hardly makes the tories a minority does it?

Are you saying that under this new system, Millionaires will be given public money to contribute towards their healthcare????
