Is anyone studying/ applying for dentistry at uic?
I've my entrance exam in a few days, but I got no clue what/ how to revise. What is the 'general culture' test?

Hey, I’m just applying to this university. I will be sitting mine test in July. How did your test go? What’s it like, UCAT?

Yeah it was the same concept but I really struggled w time management because there was no real way to prepare. The questions are easier than ucat but u get less time.
I got waitlisted lol. (Got 2800 on ucat)

If you got waitlisted then i am guessing the spots are mostly full for the dentistry course this year. Do you think i should still try and apply and take the test in july? If so any resources you'd recommend?

It doesn't hurt to try if you don't have any other offers. Don't waste your money if u do tho. In terms of resources, practice 'the c test' which is the English test they have. It's more like a word guessing game imo. The general questions were reaaaaaally dumb there's no real way to practice for them so random lol. That's why I say don't waste ur money if u don't have to cuz u can't really prepare for the tests. (You also have to pay an additional €60 to convert ur academic record or sth) The interview was chill tho very generic questions. Good luck!

Thanks very much for the advice. I'll give it a go as I don't have any offers unfortunately. Also, do they begin in September? Thanks

Was it similar to all sections of UCAT or specific sections only (QR, VR, AR, SJ, DM)? And how much less time than UCAT cus I felt like UCAT already has very little time😅

Hi Karim, just wondering how your entry contemporary history section went as I have mine in January and I haven’t been able to find out any information on what the cover and the topic is quite broad so I am a bit nervous about.
Many thanks
Tam

Hi, I have my entry exam in Jan and was wondering what type of questions they ask for contemporary history and whether it’s specific to Spanish history?
Many thanks!

Hi,
Was wondering how your entry exam went as mine is Jan and they don’t provide much guidance. 😩 for example, they say some questions are on highschool biology and some people say it will be based on GCSEs and others A-Level.
The assessment also include questions on contemporary history but this is so broad! Just wondering if there is a specific period and country they cover ?
Thanks
Tam

Hello, i didn't get into uic. I'm guessing it was mainly because I applied late. The general knowledge test had questions like what was the Japanese ww2 powerhouse called. Easiest one was ww2 start and end years. Realistically I don't think much practice can be done for it. It also had the C test for the English bit, and some abstract reasoning questions similar to ucat. That's all I can remember

Did UIC add you on a waiting list or told you why you didn’t get in?
