NCPS Counselling Placememt Supervision

I am currently undertaking Adv level 4 Diploma in Counselling Practice and doing a placement. I was wondering what requirements are for supervision? My supervisor at the moment works for the organisation I am doing placement at, is a BACP registered qualified counsellor of 7 years & at and has been a supervisor for 1.5 years.

I read how external supervisors must have 5 years minimum experience of working as a supervisor and have substantial experience however my supervisor is not ‘external’ in my view since she works for the organisation I am doing placement at. Also it’s really hard to find a supervisor with all these conditions that lives close enough for me to do face to face supervision with!

Wondering what everyone else’s experience was?
