OH HEY AGAIN!! thank youu and idk recently i've been thinking engineering because i like the idea of designing and building stuff while still being stem AND helping people/exploring new stuff but this time six months ago i was thinking law so idek lmaoo 😭. luckily i got some work experience in an engineering company for this summer so we'll see how it goes!! (i really need to have my mind up for picking a-levels, how did you decide what you were gonna do??)
omg just asking, how did you manage to get your work experience in engineering?? i've tried everywhere for work experience but i still haven't managed to find anywhere 😔😔

yuppp most gygs i follow are a level so us gcse students gotta stick together 💪💪 yeah we have 74 days exactly 😭😭😭 thank you so muchh <3
I think videos are a great way to revise a topic as you have the visual and audio prompts to aid memory and recall.

d-day/day 1 of mocks!!

back again after a few days of disappearance.. and today was the first day of the dreaded mock exams. i can't lie i was feeling quite nervous especially because i wasn't feeling 100% confident with the amount of revision i had done for the exams today (english language and french writing) and so during my revision periods i put on my headphones and continued revising (minus a few minutes panicking with my friends!). THANKFULLY i found both of the exams quite okay and i'll go into more detail below:

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PAPER 1
how i thought it was going to go (out of 10): 7/10
how it actually went (out of 10): 8.5/10

to be honest i was most worried for q4 because i've never done it properly and the one time i attempted i got 12/20 (not bad but not great still). the night before i watched this AMAZING video on youtube (mr salles i believe?) on how to tackle q4 so when i tell you i was SMILING while writing my answer!! time management was also a big issue for me when practicing in class (i'd spend wayy too long on the 8markers and barely have anytime for q4/5), so i decided to do the exam in a different order (q1, q4, q5, q2, q3) and i finished writing my last sentence JUST as the invigilator said stop so i'm so happy i completed it in time!! i took a risk writing a story instead of a description for q5 but my mind literally went blank looking at the image so we move lmao. overall i quite enjoyed english lang, more scared for the masses of poems i have to learn for lit next week 😭 (anyone else doing love and relationships bc on tiktok literally everyone else is doing power and conflict)

FRENCH WRITING EXAM
how i thought it was going to go (out of 10): 6/10
how it actually went (out of 10): 9/10
nahh i was stressing for french so much for literally nothing 😭 i am quite good at french but i did not touch my memrise over the holidays so i had to go in with just 20 mins reading my notes (not great ik but now ik for next time) BUT it was okay because i got there and wrote awayy the translation was really chill and i went over the word limit by quite a lot for the other 2 questions with 40 mins left to spare. now just praying i got the tenses right!!
also halfway through the exam the invigilator SPAWNED OUT OF NOWHERE with massive scissors (genuinely thought she was going to 💀 me) just to remove my plastic label on my disposable bottle and everyone turned to look at me 😭😭 it was so funny but i definitely need to not forget to remove it cause if those were my real gcse's it probably wouldn't be as funny lol

so overall not that bad! 2/14 exams done and now i need to refresh for biology first period tomorrow ahhh

REAL THOUGH it took me so long to find some especially since most are for sixth formers/uni students as well!! it's not gonna be very useful for me doing work experience for something i'm not sure about AFTER i've picked my a-levels (and through that narrowing my degree choices)
at first i just google searched and after a while i did see some but they were too far away from me, so i asked my year 11 friend who did work experience with the company i'm going to be working with now back in year 10 but if you want i can send you a list of the more general nationwide companies i found??

there's also online work experience and stuff but i know me personally i'd much rather do it in person i really cba to sit at my desk alone for 6 hours but if you prefer that kinda stuff there's springpod and speakersforschools

i do but after like 3 rounds of the learn mode it says i have to upgrade and i use that function the most 😪
apparently our school pays for quizlet plus as well but the people taking french can't access it for some reason...

i agree 100%!! i think i learn better from videos rather than just reading a textbook and it's always nice to have someone/something teaching you the topic again

oh yh i heard of the cap on learn and test, but if your school pays for it and you can't access it then try contacting your school

oooo alright, but yes please if you could send me the list i'd be really grateful 😭🤍🤍 bcs i'm going to do engineering / computer science at uni, so i've been wanting to do work experience in that field
yess i've heard about springpod but same with me, i'd find it a more enjoyable experience actually doing it in person than online

i've tried sending it both on here and in pm's but because of the links it's marking it as spam 😪 i'll try sending them 1 by 1
also it's so cool you've figured out what you wanna do! do you have any ideas what uni you want to go to??
