more about me:

guys i just realised you all know basically nothing about me except for my mocks!! i'll let you know more about me (i'll add this in my intro post as well after)

this year i do quite a few extracurriculars:

•

debate club - i've been attending since y8 and for 2024 i was elected as president!! (still so overjoyed). debate and drama have been two things that have really boosted my confidence and what i love about debate is that you can learn so much stuff that you wouldn't normally learn otherwise, and you can really think deep into how our society really functions (to me intellectual stimulation is addictive lol), pushing me to analyse information, construct persuasive arguments, and think critically under a time pressure. ALL THIS while getting to argue professionally in a team and go to cool competitions yesyesyes

•

engineering club - got chosen finally to attend this year and it's quite cool! we're using microbits to build projects which we can enter for both silver crest and this competition and we've started planning our designs. again you learn so much than you do in normal lessons and it's inspired me to take coding seriously and i want to try 3d design our model. making me think seriously about being an engineer now haha

•

stem club - i run this club for y8s along w some of my friends, it's quite chill and we basically do experiments with them to try and get them interested in science + we get free sweets which is always nice haha

•

volleyball club - after watching one too many eps of haikyuu + instagram bombarding me w volleyball content i decided to give it a try after the sudden death of basketball club at the end of y9! man it's so draining and my neck and arms ALWAYS HURT but i'm making slow progress and everyone is really supportive which is encouraging :smile:

i lovee reading, though i definitely don't read as much as i used to cause of increasing school work, and watching tv (if that even counts as a hobby) i even decided to base my hpq (gcse ver of epq) off of it (looking at how tv effects teenage society) and i get to watch tv for work sooo. i want to watch the new iplayer series boarders but there's no timee + the chicken nugget kdrama cs it looks hilarious 💀

also love listening to music (pop, rap, kpop), playing the keyboard (for fun, i have no grades or anything and i learn off youtube) and rollerskating!! i play games (nowadays roblox or fireboy and watergirl 😭) occasionally AND i'm taking learning french seriously, i plan to be fluent cause being bilingual is a flex.

i want to travel the world, make a difference and live in a different country (temporarily or permanently is the question) and earn six figs min ofc 😛

that's all i can think of rn but yeah hope that gives a bit of insight into the person behind the billions of mocks lmao

tysm for the tips i'll be sure to do that, thinking of trying the corbettmaths 5 a day thing or mathsbot to help keep my brain sharp as well

the imc is the intermediate maths challenge, they also have a junior one (jmc) and a senior one (smc) i'll link the website if you want to have a look. it's an annual competition/challenge thing that is acc qute fun it's like logic stuff and reminds me of the tragic 11+ days lmao. i got a gold in the jmc back in y8 and the top 1.5% scores for the imc even get invited to a summer school i believe which is quite a (albeit nerdy but who cares) flex haha.

i believe most schools do it although mine might be quirky

omg those are literally the exact same groups i loved asw, apart from zb1 and xdinary heroes which i didn't listen to as much, my mains were svt, txt, ateez, bts and skz <3

OMDS YOUVE GOT THE WHOLE EXTRACURRICULAR LIST GOING i on the other hand attend no clubs at all and have no extracurriculars since i'm such a lazy person 💀💀 i did actually attend football and netball club from y7 to 9, but y10 was literally the start of my lazy era. hoping sixth form can encourage me to attend more clubs 💪

and you're so valid!! the dedication of going to a sports club for 2 years is insane i get bored so i hop from sport to sport very quickly LOL you're practically an olympian atp 🤷 and yess clubs are acc so fun like i never fully believed when the school would gass them up but you can make so many new friends and learn so many new things/get opportunities that lessons really can't! sixth form is gonna be your time frfr

the only poem i kinda know on power and conflict is checking out me history cs we did it in y8.. hopefully the anthology is interesting tho it def sounds interesting

l&r has a lot of pro-incest manipulative oxbridge poets and it's very lovely hearing about their.. chaotic love lives, the poems are good (for the most part) though and its nice to see how people rizzed people up back in the day haha
