Hi all! I will be attending Oxford for a DPhil in Education at St. Hilda's College (although I don't plan to live in college accommodations). I also haven't heard anything about funding ☹️ I'll be coming over from the U.S. and would love to connect with anyone else heading there this fall! Getting ready to move abroad has been a pretty isolating journey!

Question! Does anyone have any information on how to go about securing a teaching position as a PhD student? I'm from the US, and here it's pretty much a given that all PhD students will teach and be paid through that, but I know it's different in the UK. I'd appreciate any tips or advice!

Does anyone know how long it typically takes to get the conditions completion letter? I submitted my FD about a month ago and got an acknowledgment around a week and a half later. Since then I've had nothing and it's been 3 weeks - could this mean I'm under consideration for college funding or just admin taking their time?

the completion of conditions letter should come from Graduate Admissions after your department confirms your offer is unconditional - i recommend reaching out to your department.

Have you met all the academic conditions of offer? I met those (and received confirmation) a few weeks before submitting the financial declaration. Then once I submitted the FD, I heard back almost immediately that all my conditions were met and I could move to the next stage of the process (in my case, applying for a visa).

Yes, as far as I'm aware I have now met all conditions both academic and financial - I might send an email over tomorrow to follow up. :smile:
