there’s a massive range, there’s some people who got almost all 9s and some people who just scraped by the entry requirements (internals tend to have lower grades than externals), if you’ve got an offer as long as u get the minimum grades you’re in i think

I’m a very late applicant, I’ll probably get rejected tbh but there’s no harm in trying ig, do u know of people who applied late and managed to get in? I assume it’s heavily oversubscribed so even if I was placed on some waiting list the chances would be slim.

Does anyone know what the average sorts of GCSE grades are of those who got into Islington collegiate?

I get the impression they care about potential. As long as you’re 7+ and do well in the subjects you want to study

I did ask about this. Ig ICS is still small so I think they take the time to know students. I think as more ppl hear about it - this may change. They’re quite big on the right fit which I like. At my interview, the interviewer said it’s about finding the right place that aligns to ur goals, values etc. my only reservation is how small it is but during the interview I realised that made it a strength. I reckon it will be harder to get in this year as more ppl know about it but still possible. I don’t think they let anyone in with good grades. I read this somewhere.

Does anyone know what the career guidance interview is about, what to expect, if any applicants this year have already had them etc? Any advice perhaps?

I have only heard about this place recently. It’s so new. Can anyone tell me more about it. Not much information around.

I am thinking about ICS. I found out about it lateand missed the taster day. It is hard to imagineexactly what it is like. Can you paint a picture ofwhat to expect if possible. How does ICS contrastother different sixth form centres? Do you happento know the results from the Hackney one. I canonly see Islington results posted.

Had my interview. The teacher grillled me - i selected a history question and they are quizzing me like they are some prof of history. We will know in a few weeks apparently.
Do you think there will be any major changes in how things are run? I like that it’s very bespoke and they seem to know the students very very well.
What are the main strengths would you say?

Hi I’m looking to apply for 2027 yr12 , what are the interviews like is it based on the subjects you’ve chosen to take and if so on what sector of the subject ?

It’s general - they like to see your critical thinking. But now they do Group tasks
