Every Russel group university will have people from all walks of life, and from all over the world. I would say over 95% of the students are friendly and inclusive in these larger uni’s. You will obviously find a few bigots but most uni students are not like that at all and have societies for various cultures, religions, etc.

Okay thank you so much...Do you know the types of people staying at the different colleges there as I would want to pick the right one for me

Hi!

I am a York grad and I had such a good three years studying here. I made lifelong friends and I feel like the experience was so positive and rewarding. I was in Vanbrugh College, and there was a real mix of people. It was nice to instantly make friends with similar students, but also get to know other people that I might not normally see. I think wherever you end up you'll find your people, whether that's in your accommodation, course or societies!

If you have any other questions about York, feel free to drop us a message! 🙂

Depends on what you’re going to study. Ideally you want to pick a college next to your department as you will be with others that are doing your course and also so you don’t have to walk across the entire campus to get to your lectures🤣

I've gone to see the university 2 times now for an open day and offer holder day. and I can honestly say out of all the universities I've gone to see, the people at york seem the nicest. its not just the people in the uni but the city in general. people are just so friendly there
