First year finance experience for spring weeks

I’m currently a first year student on a four year course interested in applying for spring weeks 2025. I’m a little concerned however since I currently don’t have any direct experience working in anything financial-related. I joined the investment society at my uni, and am doing a couple of online courses, but are firms expecting me to have prior experience? Does anyone have any advice about what I should be doing over the summer to increase my chances of getting a spring week next year?
