Recently diagnosed with ADHD, A level exams coming up at the same time

I am a year 13 student, I have been struggling with ADHD the whole time at school, I pretty much had to teach myself all of my GCSE's and all of my A levels,

I finally got the ADHD assessment this Tuesday and I was diagnosed with ADHD (combined type, moderate-high severity) and I will start meds for it soon, anyway who do I contact? and is there any point at all to doing this because I doubt they will setup support before A levels start and is it possible to get extra time?

Talk to your Head of Sixth Form about this.
They can inform both the Exam Boards and your Unis about 'extra consideration'.

They're usually quite quick to sort out the special assessment requirements

Its still worth contacting your Firm and Insurance Unis and telling them you had a late diagnosis, and they may be able to take this into consideration if you miss your offer grades in August. Ask you school to email a brief letter to each Uni.

I'm really trying but the SEN exam officer won't budge, I also finished school today so its gonna be so hard to get fast responses back, I'm not sure what to do anymore but I'm considering emailing JQC and explaining the situation with them.

Your school might be able send in a mitigating circumstances form, so maybe speak the Head of Sixth Form and SENCO about this?

It might also be worth contacting the university, that you applied for and letting them know about the late diagnosis, as they maybe be able to help in terms of grade requirements and be more lenient if you were to to not to meet these in August

Good Luck

yes absolutely, if you have documents or if you don't pester your assessor due to the time frame and get them into your institution ASAP, ADHD does not require medication after all.

Also apply for DSA on transition to Uni

Hi I was diagnosed recently for combined and was offered medication. I am resitting my a levels in a private exams centre and did the ADHD test privately with a referral from my GP as the NHS waiting list is sooo long. Would I be eligible for extra time in exams if so what do I do because I'm resitting my a levels in a private exams centre there is no sen department?
