ID at the O2 - do they check?

Me and my friends are hoping to go to a concert at the O2 next year, I'm going to book the tickets tomorrow morning but I've noticed a problem. For the standing section it says that you have to be 16, but my friend will only be 15 (a few months away from 16), and I was just wondering whether or not they check ID at the O2? Have you ever been checked?

I don't want to buy tickets and then not be able to go in because of her not being old enough. I'm considering buying seating tickets, but that won't be as good as the standing, but is it too much of a risk?

I'm really confused. My friend isn't replying to my text message and I've got to buy the tickets tomorrow morning :frown:

Were you in a standing area?

Because I read on ticketmaster:
** Under 16's NOT permitted in the standing area and 14's and over only in all seated areas of the arena.**

I'm confused
I've never in my life seen someone ID'd for entry unless it's an 18+ gig.

Yeah I am. Never really listened to them much to be honest, but my friend is really into them, so maybe seeing them live will make me like them? I dunno, but I'm sure it'll be a great experience!

Didn't want to mention the band in my original post though, just incase people start flaming them instead of answering my question :p:

Good luck with getting your tickets
I highly doubt she'll get checked. I mean, does she look a lot younger than 16? 15/16 borderline i dont think ticket people will really notice

ahh i hate it when people flame them. they're a great live band with some great songs. i've seen them before in a really small venue and they are definitely worth seeing

So if we don't draw attention to ourselves and go in with the rest of the crowd then we should be ok?

I hope so, I'm really worried about this
Can't say for certain. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I know a big bunch of my friends all got turned away from a 16+ gig because a few of them were 15.

She'll be the only 15 yr old there with us, the other 3 (including me) will be 17 close to 18. Do you think that'll draw attention to her? Or, perhaps, hide her?

My friend just needs to stop sleeping and text me back, I bet he won't wake up till midday tomorrow, useless!

This.
Just look confident, it'll be fine.

(I take no responsibility if it's not, but I'm 99% confident it'll be fine)
Ha i know this is a really old thread but i just want to know if you did get checked in the end?
