awwww thank you appreciated...It's nice to see people voting for my poem because I am really self concious about my writing and it's the first time I've posted one of my "works" online so thanx again canuck
Me too... My poetry has (since now) stayed locked away in the depths of my PC (Apart from one or two outings, *glances at Mike*)

Right now, here is the premise, you post up some of your poetry, I judge it and the winner gets a grand total of 89 pos rep.

Just as a little point, ppoetry does not have to rhyme, so anything in verse which is your own will be accepted.

Also, only one poem per person, if you want to post more than one, put the extras here

The thread will be closed at 9pm GMT for judging and the winner will be announced tomorrow at some point.

The entries:

Ladyshort4U
Iluvatar
Sublime envy
lessthanthree
shootingstar
Trousers
Eeyore
Profesh
Saiyamana

Just add a poem to this thread and I'm sure when the thread starter is active online he will add your name to the list but then you only have till 9pm tonight (U.K time) to get as many votes as possible! Go for it!

Good Luck

This is the poem which I wan't to enter as a last minute entry.

Bringing in a Bundle

Sitting here, swollen I grieve
The bundle inside me is about to burst
Death has no meaning to
Someone who has lost their love

Amnesty I crave from this torment
Roses bloom throughout the world
Each one insignificant, but this one opposite

For me this is a trial
Abortion is too late to happen
Testing my patience
Aids could pass on to my creation
Lasting for eternal breath.

Oh no, nothing like that, all you have to do is like writing poetry. All you have to do is put the words, join the ukl poetry society in your signature somewhere, followed by the ukl official smilie which is this. :stupido:

that was way better I thought. i would have voted for it.....but it wasn't linked!
It was, on reflection, my best one, and i would have probably chosen to be judged on it. But its an unfinished piece really. I just found it jotted down in my notebook, i don't remember when i wrote it really, and i could hardly read it either.

Why be miserable? Surely we should just be sad for the people who have obviously missed out on our gift for writing?

Er, thanks for the votes for Jimbo The Happy Cod! Just waiting for a disgruntled 'serious poet' to throw a brick through my window, but who says happy poems can't be good, eh? Not me.

. And the best creative minds were never appreciated until after they have passed on anyway, so what do you expect?
