I'm having an interview with National Institute of Teaching next week. Part of the interview is written tasks. I'm a bit nervous about it because English is not my first language. Anyone knows what is the written task about and will they let you do it before the interview or on site ? Many thanks.

Hi @judywood,

Congratulations on getting an interview! The tasks that training providers set are different depending which providers you apply to. If you register for a Get into Teaching adviser, we can support you as we are all ex teachers and our service is free. If your interview is next week, be quick to register and keep checking your emails. Your adviser will contact you via email and suggest a time for a call. We can also communicate via email, WhatsApp and SMS.

Good luck!

Hi, I hope your interview and written tasks went well. Do you have any feedback as to what questions they asked, and about the written task? I have an interview soon too with them. Thanks

Hi. The interview went well and I've got an offer from them.
Writing tasks was the most challenge part to me because English isn't my first language. I got two papers, one was giving your a few scenarios in the classroom, ask you to write about what you will do as a teacher; the second paper was about the subject which you apply for. For example, if you choose to teach Spanish, you will have a paper to test your Spanish level.
The face to face interview questions were ok. I had two interviewers, they were both really nice. They will ask you questions about safeguarding, curriculum and some other general interview questions. They will also ask you to do a 10 minutes teaching episode of your subject. You should prepare for it before interview.
My interview was about three hours. It wasn't too bad once you are well prepared.
Good luck!

They will guide you step by step. Normally you don't need to do much until the end of Aug.
