Ofcourse I’ll try my best to help you out, first of all yes I do edexcel B for RS, I’ll be honest don’t stress too much when it comes to year 11, I know there’s a lot of people out there that make it out to be this big thing but trust me as long as your dedicated (which I’m sure you are) you’ll see your grades soaring in no tim. When I was in year 10 I’ll be honest I rarely listened in class, my grades were mediocre/decent so for me I had to make up for that in year 11, me personally I tried to learn the content for two years in one year which is not a great approach if you struggle with memory but it works, make sure you study even a little bit every day because that’s way less stressful than cramming it all into a short period. Science is mainly facts you learn so flash cards and active recall can help loads with that, I remember watching this guy called science shorts on YouTube and he condenses all the information to make it easier to digest. RS is literally just quotes, and common sense, all I did was memorise quotes a week before the exam and look over some content, again don’t take my word for it but it worked for me however you should know basic main knowledge in RS so you know what the questions are asking so make sure you are confident in your background knowledge.
Trust me when I say your year 10 grades will not reflect how you do in the actual exam, in my end of year 10 exams I got a 6 and 6-6 in bit maths and science respectively but that increased to a 9 and 9-9 in my actual results.
Maths I genuinely believe that your teacher has a massive impact on your learning, I remember thinking math just wasn’t for me but in year 11 we got a different teacher and his teaching style finally made maths click in my head, but overall for maths to do well you need to practice, practice grade 9 questions and get used to needing to take a creative route and thinking how to solve the problems because bigger questions at the end of the paper usually are not straightforward. Practice weak topics first and work upwards from there, I personally think note taking for maths is useless (unless your modelling how a question should be done ) so do as many practice paper and practice questions as you can. It sounds shallow but that is simply the best way to get better in maths, though reader h alternative approaches and see what works for you.
Science I hate to say that I should’ve concentrated more in class even looking back now but overall to do well aim for 50/70 in each paper to get a 9 and for an 8 aim for around 45, it could sound hard but do active recall and it’ll slowly look much more doable, learn each topic as until you know it like the back of your hand, get friends to quiz you using flash cards, and make sure you know main knowledge on each topic, for me note taking in science helps but others before visual learning or listening etc, unlike maths science you cannot practice it in tests unless you know knowledge
Best of luck in your exams you’ll ace it.
