TSR Goes Green: Do you study outside?

🌍 TSR Goes Green! 🌍

With the return of TSR Goes Green, TSR has a question for you:

Do you study outside?

Where's your favourite spot? What are the benefits of studying outdoors? Are you more productive when you study outside?

Let us know your thoughts below!

I do study outside, when its not for a big test. For example if Im just doing some little revising or homework that isnt really for an exam but just so I can catch up, and its a nice day then yes I will sit outside with my books in my garden on either the bench (depending on how many books I have and writing I have to do) or on those fansy sunbathing chairs because I love my one😭.

I would love to go to a park too because it seems so asthetic, but all the parks near me are dirty and the nicest park is in town and further so like half an hour away+. But its fine.

But I hate being bombarded by bugs so thats something that acc prevents me from studying outside.
The problem is wind, if it wasn't for wind I'd do it all the time :frown:
No that is so real , because the wind is my enemy when revising outside. What do you mean my page wont sit still?
It sounds like a nice idea but it's always damp, cold and raining... :ashamed2:
Maybe at a park bench on a bright sunny day will make me more productive :yeah:
Yes love to do it on a park bench as long as its dry and clean
I usually study in my room. Occasionally in the library. Today we had an exceptionally beautiful day so I went to study by the canal we have on campus. That was nice.
As a zoology student, I'm lucky enough to get to study outside for lots of my course, including days on boats and field trips around the area/across the world which is so much fun (even when it's raining!) 🙂

Hiya!

Personally, I do not study outside. Currently in regard to University assignments I complete all my work on my laptop, and I find it challenging sometimes to find somewhere comfortable whilst also being in the shade, so I can still see my computer screen. I also found, that by being outside I can be too easily distracted whether that’s by other people in the same space, being harassed by insects and the consistently changing weather that is the UK. I also suffer from Hay fever and therefore by being outside on certain days it can become too irritating. However, I do understand why some people prefer being outside especially in the summer as when I was in college and the library was far too small for the number of people who attended the college; myself and some friends revised outside in the communal areas, and back then I tended to use paper and books for revision.

It's interesting to read who does what and it sounds like the weather is the main problem, aha

Studying on a sunbathing chair is a completely different experience. :yep:

That sounds like a lovely place to study.
I wrote the majority of my dissertation from my parents back garden. 🙂

Apart from hay fever, I don't study outside for the same reasons.

The weather does seem to be the problem, doesn't it?

In that case your productivity levels must've been quite high there. :yep:

Exam season in summer is perfect for studying outside under a big parasol (this is what you call the umbrella plus outdoor table right?) when its not windy! Really nice change of scenery and environment.
I would/do sometimes. It can be tricky if you're just working on a picnic blanket, and glare from the sun/wind can be an extra challenge! It's nice to do when you only have some light or short revision/work to do, but if you need a really good session it's sadly better indoors.
I like to study outside when the weather permits tbh either around campus or in the park.

In my University we have a rooftop in our student centre which is perfect for revising as it is quite but also breezy.

If I am studying with my friends, we go to a garden called Winckley Square and have a study picnic.
