Can I use an applied medical sciences bsc (hons) to get into postgraduate dentistry?
Hi, I'm a first-year Applied Medical Sciences student at UCL, I know that Swansea Uni also offers this degree but I'll speak from my experiences at UCL. About 30% of the people in my course plan to do graduate entry medicine after the degree, with some (very few) entering dentistry. Unlike a traditional biomedical sciences degree, this degree is a mix of online learning and live events, with lots of problem-based learning and coursework based on diagnosis. Please note that postgrad medicine/veterinary medicine/dentistry is VERY competitive so a 2:1 (1st is desirable) in this degree is a must. In terms of difficulty, it is a build-up of what you have learned from A Levels, of course, I'm only talking about first-year here. Hope this helps
