Hi @vishaka_c04 👋

Our BSc (Hons) Computer Science course is built around in-work opportunities from industry projects to collaborative research and is accredited by the BCS The Chartered Institute for IT to Chartered Engineer (CEng) and IT Professional (CITP) status. This guarantees they meet industry requirements, have real-world application and are relevant to employers. You’ll build technical knowledge to analyse large-scale computing systems problems and acquire software engineering skills to deliver solutions that drive real-world industry.

We’re working with some of the sector’s most forward-thinking organisations and that means you’ll have access to expertise, work experience and networking opportunities that take your learning out of the classroom and get you noticed. In terms of graduate employment and career prospects, 100% of our BSc (Hons) Computer Science (SW) students are in highly skilled roles 15 months after graduation (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2020/21).

Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions 🙂

Best wishes,

Hi @vishaka_c04

Our Computer Science degree BSC (Hons) was developed in partnership with employers and professional bodies accredited by both the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT) and IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology). However, We take it a step further by offering our students the opportunity to join IET or the BCS as student members, with the aim of not only enhancing their academic journey but also expanding their professional network from the very beginning.

The computer science course is designed to give you the opportunity to participate in real-world projects through the life brief assessments by companies such as Redgate and Blackdot. You'll also have access to the latest digital technology. And let's not forget the bonus of studying in the beautiful city of Cambridge; as a computer science student, your campus is based in Cambridge, known to have the largest cluster of technology firms in Europe, naturally having lots of opportunities to gain work experience and internships. You'll benefit from the guest lectures and seminars from industry experts like Citrix, ARM, Sony, and more.

We pride ourselves on being more than just another university. ARU is a community of learners, innovators, and achievers. Ranked 3rd in the country for graduates who are employed as managers, directors, or senior officials 15 months after graduating and in the top 15% in the country for graduates in employment and/or further study. To top it all off, we are proud to say we were awarded the Times Higher Education (THE) University of the Year, a true reflection of our commitment to providing outstanding education and facilities for our students.
