Hi! I'm in year 13 studying A-Level History

1.

History is my fav subject

2.

I won't lie, the workload is quite heavy as you need to learn to balance the amount of content with practising exam technique - but as long as you can stay on top of it you should be okay

3.

I loved history GCSE and I'm hopefully going to study history at uni so the A-Level was a must for me

4.

AQA

5.

I do Germany 1918-45 and British political history 1850s-1960s - I enjoy both but probably prefer Germany

6.

I would recommend history if you enjoy the subject and don't mind writing essays

Hope this is somewhat helpful!

I'm in year 13, here are my thoughts --

1.

It's definitely a lot harder than AS, especially in CIE where you have a historiography paper - those concepts were the hardest to grasp, at least for me.

2.

Huge but it's like that for almost all A level subjects to be honest

3.

I enjoy it and it's useful for my degree (Literature and Social Anthropology)

4.

Cambridge (CAIE)

5.

I loved the French Revolution in AS

6.

Anyone who's done it in IGCSE, somewhat enjoys it, and is used to writing a lot in exams. Hope this helped!
