Zoology

Does anyone study a zoology course or any other at Bangor University
What’s it like?
What’s the city(idk if it is a city) like, is there a night life
What job prospects are there?

Hi there! I'm a current zoology student at Plymouth so if you have any course related questions, I'd be happy to help out!

In terms of jobs prospects for zoologists, have a look at the following thread:

Hi! I’m currently studying zoology with ornithology at Bangor, just heading into second year in September and the course is brilliant! I highly recommend coming to study here as there’s a great variety of topics, ranges of zoology with courses and the level of teaching of outstanding.

The course itself is a very decent course, the modules for the most part are interesting enough but can be difficult at times, particularly Principles of Life and in part Tutorials within the second semester. Second semester is where everything (personally) got a lot more interesting as you’ve found your grove and know how to structure assignments. All exams and MCQ’s are online which is a bonus expect one conservation exam if you’re on zoo w/ cons. As mentioned, the level of teaching is outstanding as there’s lots of professors and lectures specialising within fields are very enthusiastic to teach it makes a huge difference when you get them interested within a topic.

As for the city itself, it’s a fairly okay place to live. Don’t expect massive amounts of things as the high street is very dead for shops but there’s a lot of good places to eat such as Clio lounge or Wood Fire Shack. There’s great links to other places such as Llandudno, Conwy, Liverpool, Manchester and Chester for a great price on the train. The nightlife is great, academi is pretty much your average club buy free entry with the wrist band you get on freshers week and trilogy is good but very expensive for both entry and drinks, plus has alot of older guys lurking around so it’s uncomfortable at times. But it is safe enough on the streets when walking to and from the student villages.

I hope this helps!
